I Am the Kibble Dancer

Each day, I journey to the ceremonial supper dish in the sacred kitchen, and offer my humble dance to the Kibble Gods. If my dance pleases them, they will send the Benevolent Hand, bringing her life-giving nourishment for the people in my tribe.

All blessings and honor be upon thee, Chloe N.

  4. haha silly puppy :)

love the little story…benevolent hand – hahaha :D

  5. heleen says:

ahhw… the leetle doggie never eets from tha bowl! put all the kibbles on tha flooh!

  6. Jennifer says:

I do that whenever the microwave beeps.

  7. Rachael says:

CO has made me painfully aware of what’s missing in my life, namely, a corgi. How insanely adorabuhls!!! From the floofy butt at the start to the twinkling eye at the end, I am smitten like a mitten. ♥♥♥♥♥♥

  8. i respond similarly to chocolate

  9. tabbtigermom says:

    pure cuteness
but someone needs tofeed that pup on the carpet. :o)

  10. Wincey says:

So cute and so funny that he just dances and pulls the bowl around. What also made me laugh was the google ads that came up – the first 2, something about small dogs and obedience training, but the third was for the fred astaire dance studio — I’ll go if they teach me the kibble dance!

  11. Elanor says:

I need a tap-dancing corgi like this one!

  12. JennJenn says:

and this is why dogs will never be cats

does he actually ever eat the food or is he is happy to see it?

  13. Dance, Puppy, dance..

Could he get any cuter? I think not.

  14. Corgi alert!! Ha ha, sooo funny! What a great way to start the morning! Corgi is like me after my 3rd coffee :)

  15. lol, toooo cute!
One of my cats apparently moves the food bowl across the kitchen floor – I never actually see it done – I just come into the kitchen and it is halfway across the room – so it’s either them or ghosts – I have no idea how (or why) they do it – and there is no placemat to help with the slidingk…

  16. How ‘special’! :-D

  17. WTF!!!???

  18. 260Oakley says:

Bowlroom dancing champion knows how to cut a rug.

  19. The Kibble Shaman.

  20. That’s one way to work up an appetite!

  21. Glenna Mace says:

Grrr – not sure what happened but I can no longer see any of the videos on the CO site. Just had to switch to Norton Antivirus from Comcast. Wondering if that might be the problem. Anyone else unable to see the vid?

  22. wendy59 says:

It’s the corgi version of the Snoopy happy dance!

  23. Saffron says:

I did exactly the same dance the other day when I was at DSW Shoe Warehouse and found this really cute pair of red patent leather flats.

  24. Plaid Invader says:

Tappity tappity tappity tappity tap tap (pant pant pant) tappity tappity tappity tap tap WOOF (crunch crunch crunch)

  25. Not That Mike The Other Mike says:

Glenna: As a test, try visiting http://www.YouTube.com and trying to vIew some videos there. Also, try disabing the antivirus software briefly and see what effect that has. It sounds as if the antivirus software is blocking content, and if so you’ll need to take up the issue with Comcast.

  26. Corgi! Ours does this very rarely. Corgis seem to all have one weird quirk; ours will do hilarious yawns and then fall over and roll around after them.

  27. fly'n bye says:

    Happy puppeh, jazzy feets,
What a way to get my sweets!

  28. jujube says:

That is the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time. Corgis are the cutest!

  29. emudoug says:

oh my goodness, i could watch that all day!

  30. There’s the heart of a gazelle dancing on those wee stubby legs.

  31. Jaylee says:

    Challange!!! (a la Cliff Huxtable)

  32. I learned about it in Behavioral psych. If you randomly reward a subject, s/he will come up with elaborately wild behavior that makes no sense. Evidently, this dog has been “trained” to have no idea when his/her next meal will come. So s/he has developed this “superstitious” behavior to make it “happen.” i.e. “The last time I jumped up and down on my feet, I got fed, so I’ll continue to do that.” “Last time I got fed, it was after jumping up and down on my feet and then going around in a circle.”

  33. It also may have to do with the slippery floor. We had an old dog who engaged in wildly strange behavior to get to his food dish; we’d just moved to a new house with a very slippery tiled floor and he was always falling on his keyster (punishment). Poor thing!

  34. Holy bouncing corgi, Batman!

  35. One of my co-workers commented that this would be a great commercial for dog food.

  36. getfuzzies says:

How sweets! Fred and Ginger have NOTHING on that adorabuhl pup – but methinks pupcakes has had a few too many dancing meals!

  37. revolution724 says:

Molly – how do you explain the fact that he mostly only seems to dance AFTER he’s fed?

  38. OMG…. that is just TOO CUTE!!! The stubby legs, the dancing!!! Good lord I want that dog! lol
And yes, that dog needs to be signed up ASAP for a kibble commercial!

  39. Megan T. says:

Does the dog actually…I don’t know…*eat* the kibble?

Needs to carbo-load for his next performance.

  40. This is just too cute! I love corgis! Absolutely adorable!

  41. happypiano says:

    he seems a little… fat.

    =p

  42. Noelle (the First) says:

Love the extreme close up at the end.

    All Hail the Kibble Dancer!

  43. Lenore says:

AHHH his dancing legs are so TINYYYYYYY

  44. Noodles says:

This must be the b.e.s.t. post and best caption in CO history ever (to me). I can’t express how much this made my day… I laughed out loud and ended up crying, because this video brought back memories of my beloved doggeh, who used to get excited about his food, too.

    Thank you!

  45. I love this one! A typical Corgi has absolutely NO shame at dinner time and will do just about anything you ask for their kibble. :)

  46. sparky's people says:

Yay, Sparky has made the big time! Thanks for putting Sparky’s video on CO. Love your description. We don’t know why he does it, it is just his happy dance. He dances nearly everyday at breakfast, but never at dinner time. He also gets this excited about walkies.

  47. Eeeek! Yippy Spastic Fred Astaire Corgi!!!!!

    tappa-tappa-tappa…….

  48. Woofie says:

Put a Celtic music track behind it, Riverdance-ish, the results would be even funnier!

  49. 260Oakley says:

Dog is auditioning for a role in “A Corgi Line”

  50. @happypiano:
Cogri’s are very flooflier dogs. My sister’s corgi looks like she lost ten pounds when she lost her winter coat.

Lets see if I got this dance right–it’s up-up-tap-tap-tap, grab the bowl and scoot back, scoot back, scoot back, tap-tap circle circle circle, eat a stray kibble… right?

  51. d’oh. After reviewing the tapes, there’s not so much circleage. That must be why the Kibble Gods never reward me with the Benevolent Hand and her life giving nourishment.

  52. Yitzysmommie says:

OOOOH! The adorableness of eet! I loved this happy corgi dancing. One of my fur grandchildren is a mix of aussie shepherd and corgi, and yes he’s hilarious looking. His name is Shredder, and I can imagine Shred doing the Happy Corgi Food Dance.

  53. harrrrrrrrr!

    haven’t had a laugh-squee-splode that good in a while

  54. GOTTA Dance! What a hysterically funny little wacko. He does NOT care about eating! He just wants to dance. I love that he especially likes food on the floor so that he can bust his side lunge dance move. I love him. He’s the best. I love the close-up at the end.

  55. LeAnn (not LeAnna or Lee Ann) says:

Corgi ‘tocks in the beginning! Great way to start a Friday.

  56. Katrina says:

    Only a Pembroke…..
Rachel, should you seek a Corgi, Killer came from the Corgi Rescue people. It worked out wonderfully. Living with our Corgi is a delight every minute of every day.
    Notice- mine is always hungry.

Yeah, I think he just wants to dance, too. What a sweet soul! Maybe he was a great chef in a former life!

  57. firefly says:

    I want a dancing corgi ~!~!~!~!

  58. Hon Glad says:

    To combine 260Oakley and Corianne’s posts :-
    Rehersals for a Corgi Line,
    up-up-tap-tap-tap, grab the bowel-scoot back-scoot back, again
up-up-tap-tap-tap, grab the bowel-scootback-scoot back, again
    a five six seven eight…….

  59. A tip for this dog’s owner: Save yourself money and don’t buy any more food bowls for your dog. Why bother? :)

  60. Anne Boleyn says:

If you look up “redonkulous” in the dictionary, there’ probably a link to this video.

  61. @ sparky’s people – thanks for sharing him with us!

  62. Snowpea says:

    Dance, Corgi, DANCE! :)

  63. stephapie says:

I have two of these funny-looking dogs, and one does a similar jig for all her meals. She scoots backwards whilest licking her chops for any kind of treat too :)
    Yay for corgis!!!

  64. Look at those stumpy little legs go!!

  65. opossum says:

    Hold me closer, kibble dancer…..

  66. Berwyn says:

    Tap dancing, at that.

  67. That IS really cute, but why is he only eating the food off of the floor? Is he afraid of his food bowl?

  68. Tooooo much!!!! The sideways shuffle almost killed me. Untill at 1;36 and 1;56 he was like “SQUIRREL??????!!!!!”

  69. Nicolletta says:

This is the time on Sprockets when we DANCE!!

  70. KatieKat says:

For those wanting a happy-dancing dog, our rescue Pom dances like this too! She also orbits around you while spinning in circles when you come home, like a small fluffy planet.

  71. Why Sparky, I do believe your kibble dancing doth bring the ladies to the dance floor.

  72. angatwork says:

HAPPY! HAPPY … HAPPY … HAPPY!

  73. Katrina says:

I would be very reluctant to clip the nails, just so I could hear the tippity-tippity tapping!

  74. Our corgi does the happy dance when we just mention “Breakfast” “Dinner” or “Biscuits”. Clemente coordinates his dancing with joyful barking!

  75. psst, Hon. Glad: ‘bowl’.

And btw, I do that for Junior Mints or Dorito guacamole chips . . . until distracted by oooooooshiny.

  76. Barn Dirt says:

<3 My Corgi doesn't dance for his food but he certain shuffles and wiggles. There is absolutely nothing cuter than a wiggly Corgi!

  77. Wrecks143 says:

@dub1 – I totally do this for guacamole chips too :) hahaha I’m so ticked off they only come in a halvies bag with Habenero.. Boo.
In other news, my pooch does the same thing where she would rather eat food out of her bowl. She tooses each kibble up in the air and watches it fly across the floor before eating it. Her tail goes a mile a minute. She and this corgi have a lot in common :)

  78. Is that feng shui at 1:30?

  79. Maerlyn99 says:

What a joyous video! Happy dance of kibble!

  80. its surprising that this dog is as fat as it is with all that work he does just to eat

  81. Dragonflye says:

Ha ha! My dog does the same thing… he’s a chihuahua, so he doesn’t get kibble, he gets mexican “Keeb-lay”.

Whenever I ask him if he wants his keeb-lay, he goes crazy!! He runs in circles and does little dances and grabs his toys and throws then through the air.

I have wanted to videotape it for years…

  82. I have now learned that there is a dog out there even sillier than my dog.

And yes, doggie should have his own kibble commercial.

  83. My Professinally Adorable rat terrier Tidbit does this, too… And it gives me the giggles every. single. day.

  84. fistbump @Wreckstar:
    Are you listening, PepsiCo?
Ptooie on Habenero chips! Just photoshop those nauseatingly coloured but deelish green chippers where the kibble falls, and all hail the Mexican corgi dance for Guacamole! Sign up your new star today!

  85. Copperbat says:

    adorable.

this is a really handsome dog too! :)

  86. Cholmondeley says:

Close-up on corgi ‘tocks to start and on corgi eyes and nose to end… *sigh* So aesthetically satisfying!

Also… corgis may have extreme floofitude, but I would guess that little Sparky has also been fitting in plenty of meals between his kibble dances. Such a sweetums yes he IS!

  87. Sweeda88 says:

This display of adorableness brought to you brought to you by the Disorganization of Unorthodox Corgilicks.

  88. Fleurdamour says:

TA DA – Sparky The Wonder Tap-Dancing Dog! The Hand should monetize Sparky by taking him the road as a circus act. (And how much do I love that his name is Sparky? Fits him to a T.)

  89. Laura M says:

Hmmm, am I the only one that thinks he/she may not want his/her bowl on the carpet and that’s why he/she is trying to drag the carpet away?

    Adorable, nonetheless!

PS: sorry for all the PC he/she’s…

  90. COOORRGGGIIIIII!!!!!! I love them.

  91. WOO HOO to all stubby-legged dog lovers!!!!
Love how his dance becomes like tom-tom drum beats when he dances onto the rug. And clearly Mr. Corgitude wants to watch TV while eating dinner, that’s why he’s dragging his bowl over to the family room! Duh! One doesn’t develop that adorable couch-potato belly by dancing all night long, you know! It takes a lot of TV watching to get that attractive round shape!!! :-)
    (I should know…)

  92. cafegrrl says:

    Adorable!

  93. Malle Babbe says:

“Numfar! Do the dance of Kibble!”

  94. Sparky. The Lord of the Dance. Outstanding little pupster!!!

  95. jennifer says:

It’s OBVIOUS that they have a toy on a clear fishing string and they’re luring the dog around with it but they’ve edited out what hangs at the end. This is rubbish.

    FAKE VIDEO!

  96. jennifer says:

P.S. You can really notice this is fake around 1:18, 1:19, 1:20 – watch his EYES. They are not on the bowl, they are looking at something they are using to lure him that they’ve edited out of the final video.

  97. InAwwwe says:

Oh Good Grief… I haven’t laughed that hard in a looong time. I just love how excited he got every single time like it was the first time. hahaha

  98. OMG, he’s so cute! I love corgis!

  99. Peanut's mama says:

I <3 stubby legged kibble dance!!!

  100. layla42 says:

@Malle Babbe – LOL! Obscure Pylean reference.. I love it.

Sparky looks like he’s part Tigger with all that bounding around!

  101. Michelle says:

Love him…so sweet and goofy! I would sit and give him kibble all day long…

  102. OMG CORGI LEGS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A TERRIFIC DANCER !

  103. Corgi: great breed? Or greatest breed?

  104. Lol! Snowpea! Billy Elliott just happens to be starting right now on cable.

This is really awesome. ;D Wanna know if anyone else hears scatting during this tap dance?

Shaboodie, de bee bop a doo…

  105. The Little Myrmidon says:

Ah…his people will not starve this winter.

  106. mimiminou says:

You should send this video to Ellen! She loves dogs and she loves dancing!

  107. kibblenibble says:

Laura M, I was kind of on the same wave length as you when Sparky dragged the rug, bowl and all, into the other room. My thought was maybe he likes to stand on the rug that is in there. But Sparky DOES like to eat the kibbles off the floor! Love the dance. I want a corgi!

  108. Chloe's Mom says:

I had a corgi that used to do “The Bone Dance”. Anytime she got a cookie bone, she’d toss it around and dance, wrinkling her nose at it.

  109. jschwanke13 says:

OMG just take it off the RUG! lol…. so cute

  110. He should consider joining the Riverdance or Lord of the Dance crew..

Just imagine the music he could make with some tapdancing shoes on.

  111. Sparky has his people well-trained! He dances, they feed heem!

  112. Haha this just made my day!

  113. Rapwnzel says:

Why is it that most people seem to think it’s okay to overfeed their dogs? It isn’t healthy. Food does not have to equal love or the other way around. But this is a cute video nevertheless.

  114. Move over Lord of the Dance!

  115. Madame X says:

Our Shih-tzu, Aiko, does the dinner kibbledance, too, except she’s more of a twirler than a tap dancer. She and Sparky would make a lovely pair, he so robust and debonair and she with her soft, silky hair bouncing to the beat…

Dancing with the Stars may have found their new champs!

  116. blair knight says:

aww he is so happy! what an adorable puppy! :)

  117. Love it :D

  118. jennifer,

    it’s the hamster, silly

what? you mean you don’t see it?

  119. RosebudSmilie says:

What a cutie dude! He definitely shows how much corgi love to eat, hoping food raining from the sky ;)

  120. tabbtigermom says:

I don’t know why some think that this video shows that this pup is overfed. I don’t get that at all. Cute as a button. :o)

  121. Debbieln60 says:

Lord of the Kibble….move over Michael Flatley.

  122. Hon Glad says:

Dub1 – Thank you! I’d ad the embarassed emoticon, if I new how, I’ll do
    glum instead :(

    Katiekat – Small fuffy planet,LOL. :)

  123. tonicakes says:

Nobody is overfeeding the Corgi! its a compilation video taken cut together as the “best of” Sheesh! do some people actually think they really fed this dog like this all in one day?

And if you could read the comments from Sparky’s People he Only does this in the morning, for breakfast. Not for Dinner.

The is an EPICALLY Cute video, stop dissing it.

  124. This is adorable. It sounds like his toe nails need a good clipping, though.

  125. kibblenibble says:

KatieKat: “She also orbits around you while spinning in circles when you come home, like a small fluffy planet.” Thank you for writing this. It made me have happy giggles!

  126. Makin’ it rain!

  127. Ludivine says:

The corgi is a tad chubby, yes, but in no way obese! C’mon people, there’s sound advice, and then there’s just plain mean-spirited. Just enjoy the video, sheesh.

  128. Meliss says:

I hear this is Queen Elizabeth’s fav video!

  129. Bojangles Robinson has nothing on this guy.

  130. dainty says:

I don’t understand why he keeps doing it after he’s been given food… but it’s adoribubble

  131. rosieluv says:

seriously, play men without hats “safety dance” in background. sparky’s got rhythm!

  132. akissy says:

It’s like “YIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!” It’s sooo adorable!! And maybe he’s doing it after he gets the food because he’s happy he got it? o.o He even bangs his paws ont he floor!! ^0^

  133. Hon Glad says:

Meliss – I don’t know if Her Maj is computer savy, but she does have a good sense of humour. :)

  134. I bet the Queen’s corgies never dance like. Not very royal to beg or make a fuss but it sure is cute.

  135. And The Gods Were Pleased…………………

  136. bookmonstercats says:

One of my free-range guinea pigs does a random dance when he’s waiting for me to fish something out of the fridge for him.

  137. Scout C says:

Very cute! Our corgi does “Circles of Happiness” when it’s time for kibble or treats… so she pretty much spends most of her day turning in circles since it’s ALWAYS time for kibbles or treats in her opinion! Corgis always find a way to communicate what they want, be it through dance, song or the visual arts (magazine shredding comes to mind).

  138. Paunchie says:

I loff the deep throated WOOF! One woof, only.

How adorable is this pup?? How can anybody nuff this?

  139. chanpon says:

Corgi pup happy dance FTW! Feeder’s aim for the bowl = fail. :(

  140. OMG, so CUUUUUUUUUTE!

  141. Corgis rule!!!!! Mine does this when we are going out to play ball but he is very vocal…singing I guess.

  142. Fluffybutt says:

Are these two related? – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYBpnoffIkY

  143. I love this video just as much as I did the first time I saw it!

  144. DillPig says:

He is adorabuhls! But why does he only eat the kibble on the floor, and not in the bowl? Is it because his kibble must also ‘dance’ (bounce around on the floor) for it to be nom-nom-nommable?

  145. Adorable corgi! But is the corgi devocalized?!?!?!?!

  146. Funny and cute! This Corgi sure knows how to go at it, doesn’t she?

  147. This is possibly the most awesome thing I have ever seen. I have to watch this video *at least* once a day now…

  148. Penelope says:

he’s so chubby! chubby dogs are always the cutest!

  149. Katrina says:

Our dear Killer will stand on her hind legs for chicken or turkey. That is a lot of weight on those back legs, let me tell you, but she does it with panache.

When given a treat she will go around the house whining and trying to put it someplace. She talks more and more nowadays. Whyerohweeeyohwerea werrre-a. Cute as can be.

Anybody here speak Corgi? “On the Internet no one knows you are a dog!”
Corgis are the best- paws down!

  150. Holy smokes, this dog is full of win!

  151. Reminds me of my Reggie’s Beagle dance! :)

  152. Ashleigh says:

YES! I speak Corgi! HE DOESN’T LIKE THE MAT!!!

  153. NoSoulLeft says:

I watched this with Maru and the tambourine in another window playing at the same time. The adorableness is hard to describe!! The meshed sound tracks make a life win!

  154. Oh My God!!! thats just too cute i wish i had a dog like that, that looks like a good bread

  155. Cute! That is the most halrious dog!

  156. Cathy McCord says:

That is the cutest thing ever!! I have four corgis and they really are great dogs with lots of personality!
