Greyhounds. With Sweateuws.

Goodness, had to make sure and get the “Sweateuw” spelling right. Anyway, a lady in the UK named Jan Brown decided to start making them for ResQte Greyhounds back in 2008.

In 2012, she quit her job to knit fulltime, and started Knitted With Love.

Quoting the original Design Taxi story, Brown says “Greyhounds have very thin fur so they really feel the cold during the winter so my gifts help keep them warm during walks. There are so many dogs that won’t be rehomed this Christmas so for many of them it’s the only gift they will get.”

Humboldt Penguin Chick Action!

ZSL London Zoo Head of Birds Adrian Walls (WHERE else can you get such a cool job title) is raising these two little goobers by hand. Speakers UP for the peeping and classic British accent.

[*Note for UK Peeps: Walls will have a Penguin Special at 7pm this Sunday, on ITV. -Ed.]

Bebeh. Hedgies. Doing. Bebeh. SNEEZES.

The Wildlife Aid Foundation in the UK took these little fellows in after their mom abandoned them :(. They had been on their own for 24 hours, but are now getting all the TLC they can handle. (These guys do fine work- we’ve featured them before.)

UK ResQte Of The Week Action

Right, check this out. So this puppeh Leia is cavorting on the beach when UH OH SHE FINDS A STRANDED BEBEH DOLPHIN!!! She alerts her hoomin who helps Buddy The Dolphin back out to sea! Good JOB, Leia!!

Here’s the background story:

“Whilst attempting Bass fishing on a beach near Criccieth (close to the mouth of the River Dwyfor) I was taking photos of the scenery when I heard my dog barking at me from down the beach….clearly she had found something! Managed to gently lift and guide this beached baby dolphin/juvenile harbour porpoise back out to sea. Stayed at the site for while to make sure he didn’t come back. Spoke to the coastguard once I had a signal and they reported it to the science team. Think the little guy was lucky as there was nobody around for miles! And, if it wasn’t for my dog barking at me I would have missed him too! Unfortunately I didn’t have a mobile signal to report the sighting there and then but if you do find yourself in a similar scenario and you can call the emergency numbers here: or the coastguard. You can also report sightings here.”
