THIS JUST IN: Bobcat Rescue

Crews fighting the recent Chips Fire near Lake Almanor, CA found a furry refugee: a lost female bobcat cub wandering dazed beside the road.

The cub, nicknamed “Chips,” was turned over to Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care group, where volunteers will nurse her to health before releasing her safely into the wild.

THIS JUST IN: Pouch Pals

Orphaned and lost, Anzac the kangaroo was rescued by Wildabout Wildlife Rescue Centre in Australia. And that’s where the five-month-old joey met Peggy, an orphaned wombat.

The pair have become inseparable friends, cuddling up inside the same pouch.

THIS JUST IN: Kute Klinging Koala

This is the story of a koala so adorable, he could only be called Crescent Head Jimmy. Orphaned in 2009 and weighing less than two pounds, Jimmy was rescued by Koala Hospital Port Macquarie, who raised him and returned him to the wild. Years later, a collection of his photos became a Internet sensation.

Ukrane’s Skazka Zoo welcomed four screeching, stumbling, sloppy bundles of rare white tiger, of which only 100 are thought to be left in the world. They may have picked up their messy eating habits from Mom (see end of video).
