THIS JUST IN: It’s A Girl! (Updated!)

Panda-monium (I know it’s a cliché, but it fits, yo) at the National Zoo this morning, folks. According to the Zoo’s FB page, “Genetics confirmed that our panda cub is a girl! Further, the paternity analysis shows that her father is Tian Tian.”

Baby Panda

Another assist from Cuteporter Nicole, who is driving through Virginia while battling with Siri on her iPhone. (“Siri is not good with commands to attach videos.”) Washington Post photo sent in by Jennifer K.

PS- Check the Panda Cam here- but give it a minute, the whole world is watching.

THIS JUST IN! The Long National Wait Is Almost OVER

Tomorrow morning, The Smithsonian’s National Zoo will be announcing the sex and paternity of their new panda cub! We will bring you the latest info, natch.

FAVE FRAME: WHAT. IS. THAT?

THIS JUST IN: Maymo Takes Down A Furby

Takes awhile, though. Furbys are built to last. And at about 1:09, after Furby has left the building, notice how Maymo casually glances at the camera, then: thump..thump..thump.

Cold, Maymo. Stone Cold.

More Maymo Madness here.

THIS JUST IN: We’ve Got The First Maru + Hana VIDEO!

Mugumogu finally cranked up the video cam, and here we go. FRESH off the YouTube Presses—like a MINUTE ago—-here it is!

THIS JUST IN: Kitteh Cat-astrophe Averted In Brooklyn!

BThanks to Cuteporter Julia G. for the tip. It seems two wayward kittehs now named Arthur & August were spotted Thursday on some subway tracks (the Fe-Line) in Brooklyn! No one knows how the little guys got there, but rescuers had to scramble to save their furry little necks! Over to you, Matt.

The service was shut down for about two hours; they were found near the B and Q stops located at Church Avenue in Brooklyn.

The kittehs were, predictably, hard to wrangle.

Rescuers named the pair, who were transported to the Brooklyn Animal Care Shelter, where they are safe.

Quoting the New York Daily News, rider Sandra P. said “The announcer said it had to stop to rescue some cats,” Polel said. “I didn’t mind. I wanted to get home, but I also wanted the kittens to be safe.”

All’s well that ends well. Finally!

THIS JUST IN: US Open Gets Sqwerly

In the middle of a women’s match, This Little Dude decided to challenge a call. Or look for a nut.

Spotted on the Yahoo! Sports Twitter.

THIS JUST IN: Grumpy Cat Meets Bub!

And the Intertubes brace for the shockwave. Mashable says the pair were in Minneapolis for the Internet Cat Festival. (Click each image to play the Vine video.)

THIS JUST IN: RIP 2 Wasabi-Chan

Got this note from Cuteporter Edward H., who just posted it on the CO FB page.

“It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of Wasabi-chan at 6:30pm Tokyo time today, the cute kitten in a mushroom costume who was featured here.”

Sigh, been a tough summer for our friends, from Schoep to Jay V. to Chase The Baseball Doggeh, and now Wasabi-chan.

When you love the furballs like we all do..it makes their passing that much harder, doesn’t it?

THIS JUST IN: More Dog Days Of Summer (Updated!)

082513-am045The Giants have had a “Ruff” season. In fact, it’s gone to the dogs.

CO’s kept you up to date on several Bark In The Park events during the summer, and today’s update is from CO’s home team and venue, the San Francisco Giants and AT&T Bark. This event’s called, quite creatively, “Dog Days of Summer.”

According to the MLB site, “Prior to game time over 500 furry, four-legged canine fans paraded around the warning track with their hoomin companions.”
