Two, Tired

14836778162_ed937b4778_kFlickrer Mark Peters rolls out the story: “Last week, Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary accepted a mother pig and her babies into the fold. PETA rescued this family from a trash-filled pen in a trailer park in North Carolina. Now they can munch on grass, sleep in a straw-filled bed, and live out their lives together with lots of space to roam in, mud pools to cool off in, and a family of more than 40 other pigs to socialize with.”

That’s what we have here. Despite the obvious Big J Cute Level, this is c/o London, England. That’s George and Elton below- just four weeks old.

They now reside, for the time being, at the RSPCA Animal Hospital.

Quoting London24.com, “You may wonder about the outfits. Unfortunately these two naughty boys have a habit of suckling each other in their sleep and making themselves sore,” said Sian Anderson, a clinical manager at the hospital.”

Thanks to Arne for this one.

Havin’ A Jaunty Jonty Caturday!

unnamed“Jonty was rescued from a litter of kittens born in a garden nursery in Southern California. Here he is, small enough to fit in the palm of my hand, on his second day home. He’s now a 16 pound giant Turkish Van (you showed his heart off on Valentine’s Day.) He’s currently recovering from gastroenteritis, so being in C.O. might cheer him up and make him feel better! It certainly cheers me up every day!” -From the iPad of Susan S.

Bunday: Colorado Bun UPDATE!

unnamed (1)“Hello again! I sent some pics about a month ago of a litter of baby cottontails we fostered after they were dug up by a neighbor’s dog. We ended up taking them to a rescue because we were loving on them too much and they were getting too used to our cat. They were later released back into our neighborhood a few weeks later and have made themselves at home in our yard! I recently spotted one raiding carrots from one of my container gardens and thought you’d like to see! I’m also sending a photo of the whole litter during a nap just before we took them to the rescue. A fan from Colorado, Lynne H.”

Maybe We Should Bring Out The Pharrell Song Again

Because if ANY video deserves the song “Happy,” this one would be it! This is Frank, everyone. Had a tough life at first, but as you can see, he’s pretty well bounced back.

UPDATE: Yup, Frankie should have the song.

We Had A Meerkat Monday In 2011

Meerkat ToyboxThree years ago? It’s time for another one.

Fellow Earthlings Wildlife Center near Palm Springs, California cares for Meerkats with nowhere else to go. They take in Meerkats and give them a sweet home to live out their Happy Meerkat Lives!

The only reason they have toys and are interacting with people is these guys were born in captivity–so they can’t be released into the wild. And they do NOT make good pets. This is a private facility- not open to the public- but if you “adopt a meerkat” you can set up a visit where you’ll help serve lunch. Mmmmmm, anyone for seconds?

Getting down to the bottom of it all.

Worms inside a ball. That’s pretty much as good as it gets here.

Play, dig, snack, nap. Play, dig, snack, nap. It’s just how they roll.
