Caturday Fairy Tail

Once Upon a Kitten

Once there was “A mythical woodland creature tiny abandoned kitten who found a group of friendly giants hikers at a magical forest Red River Gorge, Kentucky. “He clearly cast a spell on us adopted us by using his powers of the Qte following us for half a mile through the woods.” They named him Red.”

Caturday: Did U Ever Know U Were My Hero?

Have you seen this video? For some reason, a dog decides to sneak-attack 4 year old Jeremy Triantafilo on a bike, and Tara The Hero Cat comes to his rescue! (Note: some injury photos at :46, FYI.)

Tara’s got her own FB page where U can learn more- and she’s even (somehow) throwing out the first pitch at a Bakersfield Blaze minor league baseball game Tuesday night!

Rule Of Cuteness #97

This is a rare Rule. It’s so rare, I didn’t know that it existed. And it was created precisely a year ago. Who knew? Well, I did. But I forgot. So here it is, Rule of Cuteness #97.

HEAD TO BODY RATIO: If your head is exponentially larger than the rest of your entire body, that’s cute.

Taken at Saving Grace Rescue. From The Furrtographer, who adds “That’s Murcy. She was born with twisted hind legs that just stick out behind her and kind of lay there. It doesn’t bother her at all and she was adopted recently from Saving Grace.”

[To be fair, C.O. Facebook commenter Bruno G. spotted this Rule. Bruno BTW, il y a une lacune dans les règles parce que je ne sais pas pourquoi. -Ed.]

I’ll Save You, Lois!!

[I’m SUPERCAT! I can nom treats with a single bite! Jump over couches in a single bound! Whack the puppeh with a single swipe!]

ResQte Of The Week II: Eleven Little Ducks Went Swimming One Day

Oops! Looks like they swam the wrong way.

The kindness of strangers rescued the pack.

And all eleven ducks said, “Quack, quack, quack.”

“Eleven ducklings trapped in a storm drain are alive and well thanks to two alert Mount Vernon residents and a resourceful crew with the city’s fire department! “Thanks to their diligence and selflessness, an entire family of ducklings was saved from nearly certain peril,” said Jeff Brown with Skagit County Washington Search and Rescue.

Rest of the story over at KOMO News. Thank you to Susan H., who says, “Hi! Here’s a great story about 11 ducklings rescued by the Mt. Vernon (WA) fire department. More candidates for the Men of CO calendar, methinks!! P.S. I love that they blocked the entire lane for the rescue!”

CAUGHT ON FILM™: Amazing Kenya Bebeh Trunkster ResQte!

You won’t believe this.

Here are a bunch of Adult Trunksters, just kinda hanging out in Kenya crossing a river, which is, well, what Adult Trunksters do. Then a little Bebeh Trunkster floats off, and Mama has got to go reel him in!

ATTN C.O. PEEPS: Knitted Birds Nests Needed STAT!

Cuteporter Mary P. sent us this Urgent QTE-Flash email. Let’s hear it, Mary:

I need your help. So far, I’ve only been able to knit 3 and a half of the 1200 nests Wildcare needs for this year’s crop of orphaned baby birdies. With your help, I bet the Cute Overload community can make the needed knitted nests in no time! Wildcare is located in San Rafael, CA. (North of SF.) This link has info on how to help.”

Patty & Her Little Guys

“Hope it isn’t too late to submit for Mother’s Day…[Nope! -Ed.]…this is my foster kitty Patty & her 4 babies. Patty was heavily pregnant when she was trapped in a feral colony (she’s definitely not feral!) I took her home & the next day she gave birth. The babies were 2 weeks old yesterday. Patty is the best mommy and her kittens are beyond adorable!” -Cuteporter Cathy O’B.

Little lost turtle
Ends up in a machine shop
Andrew saves his life

“Wednesday, one of my coworkers found a tiny turtle in the middle of our metalworking shop…1.25″ long. I found an old 3.5” floppy disk box to put him in so I could take him to the state park after work. I gave him a cap of water and a popcorn chip. My sister was able to ID him. My son called him “Turtle Kwong,” and TK was soon dropped off near a river at the state park.” -Andrew K.

[NOTE: Here’s what a floppy disk box looks like for the kids in the audience. -Ed.]

Wow, Is That A Lot O’ Pandas, Or What?

It really isn’t.

Artist Paulo Grangeon worked with the World Wildlife Fund and others to create 1,600 papier-mâché Pandas to raise global awareness..

..about the continuing plight of these wonderful blorps.

Each one of these..

…represents a single member of the species that is still alive in the wild today.

Pretty serious when U think on it.

My Modern Met. More photos here, too.
