Got The Monday Grumps?

You’re not the only one. (Speakers up for the Squeaks, btw.)

“I volunteer at the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation and this little fellow is one of our current residents. Another volunteer and I took him outside for some exercise, but what he really wanted to do was nap! You can hear his grumpy little squeaks as we try to get him to move around. We haven’t named him as we are hoping to release him once he’s a bit older. However, many of us are referring to him by the oh so original nickname of “Porky.” -Sandi F.

It’s Adopt-A-Cat Month!

June is Adopt-A-Cat Month, which aims to raise awareness of shelter pet adoption. Here are some terrific photos from The Furrtographer of kittehs now available at the Humane Society Of Silicon Valley. Check hovers for deets, and if you happen to be in the Bay Area- head on over.

Rump Day

Middle of the week, and that means Rump Day! This is Iker Catsillas Purnandez. Cuteporter FB says: “He is named after the captain of Real Madrid football team and the Spanish National Football Team. He snores like an old man, is afraid of everyone and everything and loves to lounge about, as you can see. He even does yoga!”

12310945424_f44b5b5527_o
“Iker is a rescue; his previous owners left him in a cardboard box outside the local humane society in the middle of the night in a November blizzard. :( They apparently cared enough to neuter him, but when they found out he was diabetic and would require special care (i.e. insulin,) they abandoned him. Their loss, definitely my gain!”

An App For A Good Paws (Geddit?)

The Furrtographer aka Josh Norem has his first app for iOS available on the Apple™ App Store!

It’s 116 kitten wallpapers, and was created from his various volunteer efforts with Tonis Kitty Rescue, Wonder Cat Rescue and Saving Grace Rescue Inc.!

The cost?

Ninety-nine cents. For 116 Kittehs. That works out to 0.00853448276 cents per kitteh!

(He’ll be donating a portion of the proceeds to the rescues that provided kittehs for the shoot, so everybody wins!)

Whadya waitin’ for? Here they are!

Esther the Wonder Piggeh

Rule Of Cuteness #97: The Sequel

As we said back on the 15th of this month:

HEAD TO BODY RATIO: If your head is exponentially larger than the rest of your entire body, that’s cute.

And so it shall be. This terrific photo of Pookie is care of Nathan W., who adds “She is a Rescue Kitteh from King County animal shelter. We are fostering them.”

Goin’ Home To The Place That He Belongs

Dateline, Grass Valley, CA.: People, prep the Kleenex, you’re gonna need it.

Mr. G. The Goat and Jellybean The Burro were rescued after years of living together, but went to two different rescue places. Mr. G. missed Jellybean terribly.

So they were reunited.

Spotted by Smedley Angel Fish. More at KTVU.com. Like the song? It’s called “Home,” and it’s on The iTunes.

Frostie The Snow Goat: A Jolly Happy Soul

We’re used to Japan blowing the lid off The Cute, but just when you least expect it, here comes Edgar’s Mission from Down Undah to steal the show.

And steal it they DO; this is Frostie The Snow Goat! Good grief. Take it away, Kyle B.

“A couple of days ago a little goat arrived – Frostie The Snow Goat – who has joint navel disease which limits the use of his back legs because of a buildup of gunky stuff and swelling in the joints. We need to keep him active and actually lent him Leon Trotsky’s cart to get around in and it is working wonders.”

[NOTE 1: Watch for the tail wagging.]

[NOTE 2: Update 11:25am PT: More photos added!]

CAUGHT ON FILM™: Ultimate Mama Bear ResQte!

People, U just won’t believe this one. Mama Bear discovered her son was playing on a road through Kootenay National Park, which is located in southeastern British Columbia in Canada. Needless to say, she put a stop to that immediately.

U can bet someone is going to get a talking-to. Or a growling-to. (And here’s Stunbunny’s “Bongo Feet,” by request.)

“Snowy Started It!”

This is Quirky & Snowy. Which one is which? Quirky is the one who has learned to type his own photo submission to CO, for purely journalistic purposes of course:

“I love the look in Snowy’s eyes in the picture of them wrestling – and for the record, Snowy was the one who started it.”

My son Regan and his wife Ana have two dogs, a one year old named Quirky (on the left) and a three year old rescue named Snowy (on the right). The dogs love to watch out the front window of the apartment for their mom and dad to come home! Quirky has calmed down a bit since they adopted Snowy, and Snowy has come out of his shell in the short time he has been living with them, thanks to the playful Quirky! -Karen K.
