C.O. Cat Café World Tour (With Photos By Vanessa S.)

Vanessa S. took these fantastic photos on our latest World Tour stop- this time in the great White North of Toronto. “No tour of cat cafes would be complete without our TOT Cat Café in Toronto. The fabulous felines who are staying there have come from the Toronto Humane Society and are the most wonderful pussycats ever.” she says.

“I am hoping you can include them in your Tour because we have a large number of homeless cats in Toronto and they could use the help in getting adopted.”

“We had a wonderful night schmoozing with the kitties, drinking coffee, and speaking with the owner, Kenneth, who has come all the way from Saskatoon to start up the café. He told us that it has been a huge success so far. It is a little bit of a wait to get in to meet the kitties… but well worth it!”

“I’m an amateur photographer and I would love to do more volunteer work with shelters and rescues in the Greater Toronto Area. Here’s my website!”

“My name is Eric. I know you get a million submissions, but you may remember the Squirrel videos I sent a few months back – one of which was Zatoichi eating his first Cheerio!”

“As I’m sure you know, January 21st is National Squirrel Appreciation Day, so I wanted to make sure C.O. made all the squirrels proud with their recognition on the 21st.” [*Note: Or on the 14th. -Ed.]

Holiday Windows: That’s A Wrap!

HW2Now that Christmas is over, the SF SPCA would like to thank all of their supporters for another great Holiday Windows at Macy’s! This year, in just six short weeks, they were able to send home 261 animals, 220 cats and 41 dogs, raising $88,135 in the process! That money will go to supporting year-round programs for animals in need. Not only were the animals adopted at Holiday Windows saved, but those adoptions opened up space in their shelters to bring in 261 more animals.

“Every year I am touched by how many new beginnings come from Holiday Windows,” said Adoption Center Coordinator Amber Eby. “I love it when people come back to visit and tell us how their adoptees from the previous year, or the previous five years, are doing in their forever homes. It really does help change lives, for both the animals and their people.”

Hoppy Poppy

It looks like someone is just a little bit excited that it’s chow time. “This is a video of Poppy the Rescue Dog. Many thanks…and love your site, Jamie M.”

“Oh! You’re Home….Early!

There is absolutely no doubt that Shamus has either (A) Done something very bad, or (B) Is about to. Which leads us to Rule #32: If you’re caught doing something bad, it’s cute.”

“Here is a photo of my 6-year-old rescue cat Shaymus (aka Shay-Shay.) He has an almost human-looking face! I love him to pieces but his snoring does keep me up many nights,” Jamie M. tells us.

Russell Welcomes U To Toesday

image1“This is my 9-month-old rescue kitten Russell. He and his sister Sophie enjoy cuddling, being loud in the middle of the night, and begging for human food. As you can see, he leads an exhausting life. I thought you might enjoy his cute little Toebeans and barely-noticeable overbite. Thanks for bringing smiles every day! Photo taken by me, Kate C.”

Soph and Jax 2015“Waiting patiently for Santa…they were both nice this year! 😊❤ Sophie & Jackson, 2015: 8 year old husky & 6 month old border collie/lab mix from a local shelter,” writes Maureen M.

Jill The Sqwerlio (Part III)

Jill1We first heard about Jill The Sqwerlio back in October (see Part I and Part II.) Louisiana-based Jill was rescued after she fell from her tree during a hurricane. Here’s Part III c/o My Modern Met!
