Larry The Lemur grabs the camera to take a selfie. Sure, happens all the time!
Meet Gertrude and Eleanor, two Sifaka Lemurs born on the same day last month at the Duke Lemur Center.
Looks like everybody is pretty Googlie Eyed over it!

“Two female Sifaka lemurs, Gertrude and Eleanor, were born on January 5 at the Duke Lemur Center. Gertrude weighed .23 pounds (105 g) at birth and Eleanor—a big girl!— weighed .25 pounds (117g). Gertrude is the daughter of mom Pia and dad Jovian – Jovian being the famous lemur that played Zoboomafoo in the popular kids show by that name on public television. Eleanor is daughter to Rodelinda and Marcus. Both infants are in the process of being introduced to their fathers and siblings, and all is going well.” Via Zooborns.
Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo and the Denver Zoo are making a Big Wager for tomorrow’s Big Game! According to the Ballard News Tribune, if the Broncos win, “a curator from Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle will hand deliver a case of Washington apples to Denver Zoo’s Przewalski’s horses and spend a day working with the horses and elephants wearing a Bronco jersey.”
“If the Seahawks win, Denver Zoo Curator of Birds John Azua will take a case of trout to Woodland Park Zoo for its sea eagles and spend a day working with the zoo’s animals while sporting a Seahawks jersey.”
These Lemurs are outstanding in their field…!

In one corner, we have the scrappy hometown favorite, Willy the Kid. In the other, Charlie the Brown Lemur, rolling up his sleeves and coming out swinging. Both are ready to rumble for the numnums! Who will win? More importantly, who is cuter?
Lemme guess. I can see it in your eyes, right now you wish to feed a red-ruffed lemur slices of yuh-huuummy banana.

While part of the USA midwest is dealing with SNOW (checks calendar, it’s only May) it’s been a TAD on the warm side in the San Francisco Bay Area. These guys at the SF Zoo are soaking up the solars and don’t seem to mind the temp one bit. [Say like Cliff Claven:] “Ah, little SPF 15′ll do the trick.”
