Anybody Wanna Scritch A Koala?

Judging from the multiple reactions of this little goober, I don’t think they mind a whole lot, am I right?

Thundah From Down Undah!

The first Koala Joey of the season has emerged from Mum’s pouch at the Taronga Western Plains Zoo! He’s been named “Thunder,” and is Joey #2 for his Mum “Wild Child.”

I’m Luke Skywalker, I’m Here To Rescue You!

11703594_10153602422862147_6361762760021785839_oNo, we’re not done with the Star Wars references today. Earlier it was the Pikachu Imperial March, and now it’s…Koalas with Light Sabers. Of course. The original photo of a Cute Little Koala at the San Diego Zoo is above. And here he is once he’s got a bit of The Force in him:

How Do U Weigh A Bebeh Koala?

Well, you try to plop his little ‘Tocks next to a Koala Stuffy, or course. Now you MUST have the Speakers Up for this one. Ehn! Ehn!

‘Ow Bout A Nom, Sheila?

This Kurious Koala wants some eucalyptus leaves. He’ll take a nom on that hand, too. (Biting the hand that feeds you?)

Alicia A. sent that in and adds, “This koala nommed on my hand today and I’m totally okay with it! I found this wild koala snacking on some dud looking gum leaves, so I got a whole bunch of fresh yummy looking leaves from a healthy tree and presented it to the ‘obviously’ hungry koala. Koalas have real blunt teeth- it felt like my skin was being squashed in between two coffee mugs! This video was taken on a local reserve / playground area in my suburb Greenhill (near Adelaide) South Australia.”

Destination: Rottnest Island!

SONY DSCI’ve never met Quinn C. in person, but I’m sure he’s a fine fellow. Why? BECAUSE HE DID THIS.

“These photos were recently taken on a trip to Western Australia. I was there on business, but your Quokka posts inspired me to take an excursion to Rottnest Island. Being surrounded by these friendly, furry, little fellas: priceless.”

“P.S. While you’re there have a look around at my album of other furry and feathered friend photos (below) – they’re all indicative of the fauna present on this island country, and all humbly at your disposal. I’m especially proud of the Baby Wallaby because, you know….baby wallaby.

More Koalas? Sure, NO Problem!

Hope you saw yesterday afternoon’s story about Lizzy The Koala and her little one Phantom- if not, here’s a Helpful Link. And while you’re here, why not check out the latest little Furball addition at Taronga Zoo in Sydney!

You’ll Be OK, Ma!

11406724_921600117882752_6284647583619642630_o*UPDATED 2:41pm PT: MANY Cuteporters sent this one in. It seems Lizzy The Koala Mom got injured (sad story alert here) but is OK now! While she was being treated, her bebeh Phantom (above) decided to stay with Ma the entire time!

Quoting, “The Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital on the Sunshine Coast has treated 58,000 native animals in its 11-year history, with average koala treatment ranging between $1500 and $5000.”
