C.O. Cat Café World Tour (With Photos By Vanessa S.)

[*Editor’s Note to any and all shelters in the Greater Toronto area- Vanessa wants to take your photos. Check her site. Thanks. -Ed.]

Vanessa S. took these fantastic photos on our latest World Tour stop- this time in the great White North of Toronto. “No tour of cat cafes would be complete without our TOT Cat Café in Toronto. The fabulous felines who are staying there have come from the Toronto Humane Society and are the most wonderful pussycats ever.” she says.

“I am hoping you can include them in your Tour because we have a large number of homeless cats in Toronto and they could use the help in getting adopted.”

“We had a wonderful night schmoozing with the kitties, drinking coffee, and speaking with the owner, Kenneth, who has come all the way from Saskatoon to start up the café. He told us that it has been a huge success so far. It is a little bit of a wait to get in to meet the kitties… but well worth it!”

“I’m an amateur photographer and I would love to do more volunteer work with shelters and rescues in the Greater Toronto Area. Here’s my website!”

C.O. Bun Cafe World Tour: Tokyo

After a brief hiatus, our Bun Cafe World Tour returns to its old stomping grounds of Tokyo. Karen writes, “I must share one of the cutest experiences while on vacation in Japan earlier this month. This is a video of the bunnies at Mimi Rabbit Cafe in Tokyo, arguably the most well-known cafe for the cutest and most friendly bunnies. For a small fee, you get to enter a surreal world where the bunnies (including babies!) roam about the premises, and many will get super-snuggly with you in attempt to get your attention and food!”

[*Note: Works for us. We’ve actually covered Mimi once before, back in May. But the video was too good to pass up. -Ed.]

Gudetama: The Laziest Egg In Japan Hong Kong

Believe me when I say it took awhile to get this story straight. So..Gudetama is a…Sanrio (aha!) character. And let’s just quote RN24 for the deets:

“Sanrio’s egg-turned-mascot character gets its name from a combination of the words ‘gude'(pronouced goo-deh), which is a Japanese onomatopoeia for describing something or someone with no energy or strength, and ‘tama’ from the word tamago, which means egg in Japanese. And sure enough, Gudetama is an egg that, well..seems to lack the energy to do anything active at all.”

And what’s all this about? Big G is taking a road trip- a special appearance from now ’til September 6 at Langham Place, a big high-end shopping spot in Hong Kong. (Location info below.)

C.O. Cat Café World Tour: Kobe, Japan

C.O. Cat Café Big J Correspondent Robb S. returns with another report! “Rainy season is finally over here in Tokyo, and it’s gotten very hot very quickly, but at least it’s not raining every single day.”

“Here’s a new cat cafe called Miacis, from a new city – Kobe, a very picturesque port town, and the sixth-largest city in Japan. (Just half an hour by train from the recent black-cat cafe in Himeji.)

“It’s a fairly new cafe, and full of kittens – when we entered, the proprietor told us to be careful to walk slowly and not to bump into them as they were running all over the place.
[*Note: Imagine that. -Ed.]

Robb also located that red sports car scratching post!
