She May Look Disapproving, But She’s Really Just a Giant Softie

Wookiee brings Snookie the Bear everywhere with her, and she keeps him protected in of her “love bites”. And while sitting in the garden is fine, car rides are a bit more complicated seeing as the bear is about 9 feet tall.

Hope the parents are pleased, DNA.

ENCORE: Barkin’ & Quackin’ Around the Tree

And now, a couple o’ classics in the ultra-short tradition of Cute Overload holiday posts (and by this I mean they’re from last year)…

Who’s that flappin’ down the chimney? Who’s that tappin’ at the tree?
It’s the elf with the bill, and he won’t stop until every boy and girl is giddy with glee.

Every Christmas time he’s at it again, a sack full of toys and an IQ of ten,
You might get meat or you might get a doll, ’cause he’s got no clue who you are at all.

So open those presents and try your luck; it could be wood or it could be a truck,
Will Christmas be merry or will it suck? You never can tell with Santa Duck!

Have a possibly Merry Christmas, Karen K.

Encore Presentayshe: Sizzling Kitteh

And now it’s dedication time.  A reader named Joools writes:  “Dear Casey: I asked Santa for a re-run of my FAVE Xmas CO, the white kitten lying on the white lights… the caption was something like, ‘I lof the lights, they warm all my parts…’ so I could send it to friends… I can’t find it in the archives!”

Well, Joools, here’s that picture again, from the original post in November 2007.

Thanks again to sender-inner Julia G.

Secrets of Ethical Magic!

For longer performances, you may be required to have various animals secreted about your person for extended periods.  To ensure their comfort and well-being, always provide snacks just before going onstage.

Lhasa Oopsie

Ah, those poodley Apsos, those curly munchkins, those inspirational figures for the denizens of George Lhucas’ verdant Endor, those lhithe and lhovely (alhbeit a lhittle lhazy) lhemur-lhicking lhunatics… OK I’ll stop. From the Meg Files, circa December 19th, 2007.

Buster_and_hali_wrong_beds

You might infer from the photo above that Buster, the Lhasa-poo, gets to choose where he sleeps, and he chose the big bed. This would be false. Hali, the bigger dog, likes the little bed.

Anna C.— Suuure we believe you. Kinda like these two guys—remember them?

Just Walk Away, It’s Not Worth It

On this day, in late August of 2007, today, the 31st, which is definitely today, something else happened.  This is not that story.

Caked and wrinkly, turtle ‘tocks
Crinkly, crusty turtle ‘tocks

Rumpled, puckered turtle ‘tocks
Ridged, and dimpled, turtle ‘tocks.

Welcome to ‘Tocktober, People. Now put on your Bonnie Raitt wig (I know you have one) and sing it with me!

Turtles are tockin’, tockin’ ’bout turtles,
This one needs Shoehab, would you believe it?

And then these bunnies, doin’ one-eighty,
Try to ignore it but they keep singin’…

OH NOOO I MEANT TO POST THIS YESTERDAY

aaaaaaaaargh HAPPY BIRTHDAY CUTE OVERLOAD!! dammit :P

This was, of course, before COXCUs, before tags, before 560-pixel-wide pictures, before calendars, before commentroversy, before moderators and [-Ed.]s, possibly before a storied wet meteorological event requiring a lengthy journey in a big wooden freighter full of two of everything. (Awaiting confirmation on that last bit.)  Anyway, let’s pretend I posted this on “Caturday”.

I got ya broccolis RIGHT HEAH

Poor Sarah Bernham. Can’t catch a broccoli break. ;)

Broccolis? for moi?

Amazingly, lil’ Kumanoko always appears to have his mouth open in astonishment. Prolly amazed by his own cuteness. Even HE can’t believe himself!

OK, perhaps most precious detail photo EVAR? You cannot disagree.

Um, Why Is My Lunch Eating My Lunch?

In an amazing series of photos, a fearless rat stared down a mighty leopard–and the leopard blinked.  While the puzzled cat sniffed and watched, the rat helped itself to the leopard’s steak dinner.  Be sure to read the full story at the Mail Online.
