Jane Goodall Institute’s Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Center in the Republic of Congo found Wounda The Chimpanzee in 2012. She was very ill, and in fact her name in the Congo means “close to dying.” The rehab center nursed her back to a full recovery. (That’s Dr. Goodall in the green shirt.)
