Diving Down Undah for another stop on the C.O. Cat Café World Tour- this time, a temporary “Pop-Up” version in Sydney, Australia.

Maggie’s Rescue has set up a pop-up Kitten Café in the Paddington neighborhood. It opened Thursday in Sydney (it’s now Friday there) and is open until Sunday. (Unfortunately, the Café FB says admission is already sold out..they say they’re planning a second event.)

They hope to open a permanent version this summer. Photos from Zimbio and FB, with thanks to Tony J.

C.O. Cat Café World Tour: Busan, South Korea (Part II)

Yesterday we featured some terrific shots by Gina M., from her recent trip to Seoul. Today is Part II! “Here are some pictures of another cat café I visited while in S.Korea, but this time in Busan,” she says.

“The café is called Po Cat and there were about 15 cats including a kitten (!!!!)”

“The café is very clean; it has a fab cat mural on the main wall (above featured photo,) and the cats were friendly and playful.”

“We didn’t actually go into the sheep café because the queue was massive but managed to say hello to the sheep who were outside the café in the waiting area. The sheep weren’t very interested in anything but their food and didn’t like to be petted…but they look great in pictures!”

“That’s all for now, I’ll be on the lookout for cute animals!”

“I recently went to YCat Café in Seoul,” writes Gina M. “I couldn’t wait to share the pictures with you!” [*Note: Part II tomorrow. -Ed.]

“The café has a nice atmosphere with over 20 cats of different breeds. We went right when they opened the café, so the cats were very friendly, energetic and curious.”

“I’m afraid I don’t remember exactly the entrance fee, but I think it was something about 10000 Won per adult including a complementary drink.”

“There’s also the option to buy food for the cats, which we did and the cats went crazy about it. It was really good fun!”

Robb S. has the latest on a new Big J Cat Café. Here’s a new report from a place in Saitama, just north of Tokyo, called Nekoya (roughly “House of Cats”). It’s reportedly the largest Cat Café in the Tokyo area, and its residents include several frisky kittens.”

“Also one of our Animal Cafe correspondents spent the weekend up at a cat island in Yamagata with a video camera, so I’m hoping things turned out well. I will let you know!”

C.O. Cat Sheep Café World Tour: Seoul, South Korea

Taking a momentary detour from our Cat Café World Tour- we find ourselves in Seoul, South Korea, for what certainly must be the first ever Sheep Café featured here. According to the RN24 story, they can roam the “Thanks Nature Café” when it isn’t too crowded, and you can feed ’em hay, too.

Hay! It’s the Year Of The Sheep, after all.

C.O. Cat Café World Tour: San Francisco (Beta)

Is there some reason why most of the Cat Cafés are in California or Japan? Aren’t there any in…Kansas City? Or Lost Springs, Wyoming? Anyway. Last fall you’ll recall C.O. was on hand in Oakland for the opening of the first Cat Café in the US.

Now we bounce across the Bay to San Francisco with news that KitTea will be opening in mid to late April. Their mission is “To create a Zen Retreat where people and cats can hang out to the benefit of both, within the setting of a relaxing tea house.”

Zen? Yep, that’s San Francisco.

Wanna volunteer? Go for it.
