Happy Caturday, Citizen

The cat you see before you is real. It is the happiest cat you have ever seen. You watch the video many times. Soon, it becomes hard to move. You feel a happy melting sensation in your brain. Speech becomes difficult.

Remain calm. Doctors are coming for you. They will take you to a nice room with other happy people. You will share your opinions about soft drinks and political candidates. You will rate movie trailers. The doctors will write down what you say.

When you awaken, you will be at your desk. You will remember nothing. Thank you.

Goosey Two Shoes

Just when we thought Red Goose Shoes went out of business decades ago, they go and make a comeback. Sender-inner Rebecca B. explains:

These nice folks were staying with us at the St. Francis Inn in St. Augustine, FL. They let me photograph their pet goose, who goes by the name of “Gator.”

While walking alongside his owners in urban or suburban areas, Gator often has to cross many blocks of asphalt and concrete. All that rough terrain takes a toll on his feet, so his people commissioned a special pair of Teva sandals for their bird.

They say it’s totally worth the expense, and Gator seems to like the shoes just fine …

… though sometimes it looks like he “marches” more than he walks. Very deliberate steps.

You’re my Puppy

According a story floating around the Internets, this little ginger foster kitten named Cheech was introduced to a teeny tiny five-day old orphaned chihuahua puppy named Casanova.

Cheech took to the little puppy, immediately grooming and cleaning him.

The puppy responded to his every touch, snuggling up to his new friend like a pup to his mother.

When Cheech was tired, he would climb into the puppy’s box and cuddle, sharing the heating blanket.

To Cheech, he was “his” puppy and best friend.

Guinea Peeg Looks Like an Adorabuhl Mini Hippo!

Hairless is RARELY cute, People, and I had to see this one to believe it.

Uncle Leron told me he found a hairless Guinea Pig that was cute, and then the conversation went “I don’t believe you, no WAY are hairless guinea pigs cuu—AWWWWWWWOMGLOOKATTHAT”

Knut: A Retrospective

Thanks to alert cuteporters, it has come to our attention that Knut the Polar Bear has passed away! He was only four years old. Cause of his death is not yet known.

We watched, loved and snorted with laughter at Knut over the years. Here are some highlights of our favorite [sniff] polar bear:

Remember his first “Wazzup, Bitches?” [snicker] paw pads pose?

Visitors flocked from far and wide to witness “The star of the Berlin Zoo”:

Knut quickly became known as an International Subearstar, playing the crowds. He really stepped it up for this photo. Geeshe:

His fame led to awareness for green issues, where graced the cover of Vanity Fair:

After Knut after he was abandoned by his mother, zookeeper Thomas Dorflein stayed by Knut’s side. Dorflein passed away in September 2008.

In 2009, Knut was introduced to Gianna, an Italian girl intended to become Knut’s mate. The first day they shared an enclosure, Gianna slapped Knut, but they got along peacefully after that.

Earlier this year, Knut’s lavish 4th birthday was attended by 250 people who sang to him as he gobbled up cake:
