This one woulda been great for Mother’s Day, but no worries. Take a look at how Ma Bear is raising her Bear Cubs. Altogether now: “Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.” (And will you LOOK at those GIANT Toe Beans?”

@Gizmo: Telephoto is wonderful. But seriously, there are places in U.S. national parks where the local bears are habituated to human presence. Note that this does NOT mean that they are in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM friendly, cuddly, or tame. They’re just used to us. As long as we sit over here, being quiet, they’ll happily go on with their lives over there, even letting their incredibly cute cubs play nearby. Just be careful because if Mom thinks you are even thinking about considering menacing her bubsie-smoochums, she will turn into a high-speed Roto-Rooter of pain and you will not be a happy camper.

But anyway, there are at least two places I know of in Alaska alone, where if you follow the tour guide and mind your manners, you can watch baby bears be cuter than should be possible and closer than you can imagine.

  14. Mamas and their bebbehs – it’s what makes the world go ’round. So very sweet. ❤

  15. The two little guys up a tree! And the water pic – baby bear’s ears are almost at “9 & 3”, omigerd…

  18. There is just something about Bear Moms that really touches my soul. They are so affectionate with their babes, and fiercely protective. It’s what anyone would want in a mom!
