If Extensions Work For Beyoncé….

..they’ll work for this Love Bird, too!

From The Squidster.

  1. rescue gal says:

I have never seen that! Anyone know what that behavior is??

  2. Stressfactor says:

According to comments on the video this is actually nesting behavior. The birds take strips of bark or plant fronds in the wild and tuck them under their feathers in order to carry them back home to build a nest.

  3. Eddie's momma says:

My lovebird, Winnie, did this and started laying eggs a short time later.

  4. K from NS says:

yes, my niece keeps several types of birds and when they are nesting, they do this.
    still adorable to watch though.

  5. This is incredible. For a while there I thought she was giving herself extensions. Such a creative boid! But the nesting thing makes all kinds of sense. Such efficiency too, rather than carrying just one or two pieces in the beak! *Still amazed*

  6. I am totally blown away by this video.

  7. Wooooooooow! So awesome! 🙂

  8. Purplepatch says:

Nigel, my Aunt’s lovebird used to do this. Then he layed an egg. Nigel became Nigella.

  9. whatthelump says:

If this weren’t a nesting thing, I’d love to give her feathers and and other bits ‘n bobs from the craft store to see what she comes up with!

  10. doomchild says:

whatthelump: you could still give her all kinds of knicknacks, her nest would be the best ever!

  11. Honestly teacher, a lovebird ate my homework!
