Cute Overload :D
You were expecting someone else?
There IS another “Maru,” ALSO from Japan. This Maru happens to be a Shiba Inu, and like The Circle, he seems to enjoy life just a little bit. (We saw a little tease of him here.) Here’s his FB!
Just looking at that smilingk face makes me feel happy! <3
Too bad he’s so depressed.
Is every home in Japan immaculate? Or just the ones that keep a Maru?
Pandamom, at the World Cup the Japanese fans stayed after the game was over (and their team lost, I believe) to tidy up their section of the stands. I suspect immaculate houses are the norm.
Regarding not-that-Maru, he seems to be exhibiting very feline behavior in photo 4, using his body to block the doorway. I’ve had to take that giant step to escape a room many times.
Not that NTMTOM, the other NTMTOM!
Ah, the iconic cherry blossoms photo! The Japanese equivalent of the ubiquitous Texan bluebonnets photo!
What a smiling sweetheart. I love Shiba Inu. They are adorable pups and stay really gorgeous as adults. Plus they smile!
@Pandamom, you can be assured that every home is immaculate. Just entering someone’s home makes one feel like an unclean slob in urgent need of a bath. The same applies to taxicabs, especially in the smaller towns. Crocheted white doilies and a small vase of silk flowers on the dashboard, and the driver in uniform wearing white gloves…
Such a happy dog :D
Love the doorway pic – “no passing without belly rubs!”
Aww, what a beautiful little guy! It would be hard to resist that smilingk face (or that very invitingk belleh). :)
How can you NOT love this guy?
Shiba Inus have such lovely faces.
@Clairdelune – can someone send a couple over to the US to give lessons to American taxicabs?? In LA i’m lucky if there’s no vomit in the backseat or molding burgers/smoldering cigarettes in the front… (thank god for uber/lyft)
is there something about the name maru that leads to impossibly adorable animals with huge personalities? i need more maru of all species!
@Lily, I feel your pain… my US taxicab experience has been equally depressing/unsanitary. Perhaps with the exception of Seattle, a cut above the rest even though communication with the driver was not easy. Maybe a training trip to Japan should be a requirement for getting taxicab driver license !
While this may not be cute/happy, I think this link is appropriate every time I see a Shiba Inu, ie Silent Hill 2 Dog Ending.
