Ever Hoid Of A “Tree Kangaroo?”

Via ZooBorns comes the deets on the birth of a Matschie’s Tree Kangaroo, a bebeh female joey named Holly. She arrived at the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence RI. last fall.

Quoting ZB: “The Matschie’s Tree Kangaroo is indigenous to the rainforests of Papua New Guinea.”

“It is estimated that there are less than 2,500 tree kangaroos left in the wild, because of factors like habitat loss due to logging and mining, as well as hunting.” 😦

    I agree with Gigi and Clairdelune – that tiny yawn just about killed me ded! I love the zoo lady’s enthusiasm. I’m sure those roos are in excellent hands.
