Finnish Blorp Video (+ Authentic Translayshe Action!)

Here at C.O., we know Blorp when we see it. This video is classic Blorp. It’s also from Finland, and none of us speak Finnish. Using Google Translayshe is a cop-out, so Cuteporter Tiina M. provided the helpful deets.

“The Saimaa Ringed Seal is an ultra rare and endangered species of fresh water seal that only lives in Lake Saimaa in Finland. In the spring seal pups play and swim close to their mothers. As summer comes nearer pups keep growing and start making longer swimming trips. Pups may swim to areas which have fishing nets and fish traps that are of wrong shape and are dangerous to seals. The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation is working for wider restrictions in fishing. Let not a single seal pup die in fishing nets!”

Amen to THAT. Now, on with The Blorp. (Note the underwater nap attack at 1:25, please.)

“I love your site – I’ve visited it every day for many years already! Best wishes!”

  1. Rachael says:

    One word: blorpilicious!!! :)

  2. Personally, I’d be afraid to sleep underwater.

  3. I and my friend (we’re both Finnish) are “godmothers” for those ringed seals (norppa), which means that we donate a monthly sum for their preservation. They’re anerable and worth of saving!
