    The Neil Gaiman quote is from the “A Dream of a Thousand Cats” story in the Sandman comic. It’s in the Dream Country paperback. The same volume also contains a story wherein Will Shakespeare and his troupe perform Midsummer Night’s Dream for the first time, before an audience that includes Oberon and his court. This story won the World Fantasy Award for short fiction, prompting the rules to be changed to prevent any other comics from winning in the future.
