The C.O. Guide to Alien Religions

Due to items carelessly left behind by interstellar researchers, the highly impressionable Craycray people of the planet Oopsidas-E developed a cult that worshipped office supplies.

  3. You know, one of the best things about your posts, NTMTOM, is that while I’m reading your prose my mind is scampering about, wondering WHAT the pic could be! After the scroll-down, I’ve got to read the post again with the picture in mind. Twice the pleasure, twice the fun!

(For the coffee table book, maybe the pic should be on the following page, or under a flap?, to mimic the effect of a scroll-down? Make a note of that, Brinke!)

  4. They worship Bic as their pen-ultimate god, but the annual rite of the Magic Marker is the highlighter of their religious calendar.

  5. I believe the Pencil is No. 2 in the hierarchy.

  6. NOMTOM, Teho and 260 Oakley all in obe post.

    How good can it get?

  7. Eh?

I managed to scroll till both were in view without reading/seeing either, so I got to take it all in at once. It made me snortlaugh.

  10. as an office manager all I can say is Office Supplies rule!

  12. Whahaha – Oopsidas-E, then “take this and sharpen it”! I’m so giggly I need to be pinched.

  13. NOMTOM, life without you would be like an unsharpened pencil. (Pointless.)

  14. Office supplies, huh? Reminds me of the “cargo cults” in the Pacific island nations.

  15. Fear me .. or I will ERASE you !!

  16. Crayfish are delightful little collectors of our flotsam and jetsam. As a teenager, swimming in a river, I spotted something shiny amongst the rocks at bottom — a beaded necklace, lost by a previous swimmer. It turns out, I was not the only one who had spotted it; as I tugged at one end, a little crayfish was tugging at the other. Ultimately, the string broke (it was pretty disintegrated from sitting in the water), and we each got about half of the prize.

At the time, I thought it was just a funny little interaction with a wild animal. Now I realize that may have altered course of the Craycray religion.

  17. …also, I could totally use some Craycray fanatics in my house right now. I have a plethora of pencils in need of sharpening.

  18. NTMTOM, sometimes I just wonder… what color is the sky in your world?

  19. Ia! Ia! Penchilhu fhtagn!
