Think Flying Hamsters Are Just a CO “Thing”?

Well maybe this fuzzy flyer here wants to change all that. All he needs is a cute pair of pants!

What’s next? Flying pink poodles? (oooh Meg, take note.)

“Hi Cute Team, I thought I’d seen it all. But then I found this little winged jellybean with bright yellow floof! (I’m seeing kind of a cat face thing. You?) And its name is Squeaking Silk Moth! They actually make little “squeek” sounds if you touch ’em. Help me decide – cute, weird, or both? Squeek and thanks!” -Kathleen C.

  1. Reblogged this on Forget the Viagra, Pass Me a Carrot and commented:
Okay – this reminds me of those gonks we had in the 70’s but a lot cuter – some things just make you smile.

  2. Vote cute.
    Squeeking Moths??

  3. Umm. Who needs to vote?
    You had me at squeak.
    And those feet!

  4. Buffy Summers says:

They look like something out of the mind of George Lucas or Jim Henson. A combo of cute and creepy/quirky. I’m kinda torn……

  5. Cute, and: Da feets!!!

  6. Second one looks like Mothra junior.

  7. They’re kinda like Furbies. Either adorable or hell-spawn that should be thrown into the fires of Mount Doom. It changes back and forth the more I look at them.

  8. SlaveToCat says:

That white cotton ball one has a bit of an attitude going. He might have missed his express train into the city and now has to wait and wait and wait for the slooooowww train that stops every tenth of a mile to pick up 1 passenger.

  9. Cute. With a side of odd.

  10. Where Mothra is, Godzilla is sure to follow! And the 2 tiny twins are around somewhere!

  11. Finally some moth species that don’t freak me out (yet).

  12. Martha in Washington says:

    “Squeaking Silk Moth”?
    “Venezuelan Poodle Moth”?
Did NTMTOM have a say in naming these? Cause the names are as cute as the moths are!

  13. Dog Lover says:

Ummm… what was the question? 🙂

  14. Pyrit, the hovertexts almost made me wet myself laughing. You need a full bladder alert.

  15. Abundant yellow floof? Check. Spectacular antennae? Check. Implausible squeaking abilities? Check. *Adds up scores* Def cute.

  16. whatthelump says:

I really want these fellows to sit on my monitor. The leaf antennae are out of this world!

  17. Alice Shortcake says:

The second one has furry wings.

  18. lisaLASSIE says:

Saffron: I can’t thank you enough for posting that clip. Mothra, what a wonderful monster!!!!!! And as for the actual CO moths, they are incredibly cute!!! I want to take a teeny tiny brush and brush their silky furz!!! There is even tiny BEF!!!!!
    A wonderful find, Pyrit.

  19. I hate moths, but these look surprisingly cute. :3

  20. Anything can be cute with the right lighting.
