Cute Overload :D
“Halloween isn’t very big in Australia, but here’s George waiting for trick or treaters!” -Rohan V.
Now showing that Halloween classic: Yawn of the Dead
‘Tis true, the shops try to sell Halloween goods to us Aussies but have limited success, some kids do a bit of trick or treating, but it is not commonly celebrated – it is actually a topic of debate as to whether Halloween should be celebrated. No adults really celebrate it, there are no Halloween parties for adults and adults don’t get into costume for it. If you don’t go to the shops, you might miss it entirely. I actually overheard a British and American girl on the bus discussing this last night. It is not really a tradition here. I suspect that if there were more alcohol involved instead of sweet treats, it might be more successfully marketed in Australia. I’m actually glad for one less commercialised “holiday”. I call it a holiday as it is All Soul’s Eve, so it could be considered a holy day.
