    I’ll state the obvious, okapis look like a mix of zebra and .. some kind of deer, I guess. Quite lovely, anyway.

    Yes – reminds me of that Zonkey (zebra-donkey) that was all over Teh Interwebs a few months ago.

  7. OKAPI for the win! They are small stripey giraffes — no, really!! If you could see the side or front view, you’d see they have that funky shoulder thing and the gorgeous long, complex head shape of a giraffe. And the long blue tongue, too. But since they are rain forest critters, they need the ‘follow me’ stripes to not lose each other in the dim.
    Yes, they are my favorite animal. Because they are awesome AND a great Scrabble word.
