Greetin’s Roxie, when shall we make ready to loot a lot ‘o candy?

Aye, we catch th’ early evenin’ tide about 5 bells nightfall, where plenty a landlubber be serv’n extra fine treasures!

“My mother has Alzheimers and the facility she is at celebrates every holiday. They are very dog friendly so I felt that Roxie should have a costume for Halloween. I cannot figure out a way to get an eye patch to stay.” -Sharon S.

  1. AAARRRRRGGGGHHHH .. You’ll pay for this .. when I bite your hindy !!

  2. just attach the patch to the bottom of the head band just above the eye. it doesn’t have to actually cover the eye. but probably shouldn’t poke it in any way.

    p.s. arrr.

  3. Howz about a parlay, me mateys!! I am disinclined to acquiesce to this costume!

  4. Nicefrenchgurl says:

exactly what I was about to write down

  5. Aww, come on,,,,,, it is so cute cap’n!

  6. I thought that too! Or attach a single sunglasses lens to the same place if Roxie keeps trying to see around it?

  7. I tried. It turns out that very tiny eye patches are really hard to work with. And it’s actually a skull and cross bones head scarf. As my friend Erica says, “go big or go home”. I have to find her uniform for Veterans Day and then start working on her Thanksgiving get up. She is going to be a Native American Princess and then a dreidel because Hanukkah starts on the same day. I may work in something from the “Island of Lost Toys, or the Heatmiser” for Christmas. New Years Eve is up for grabs.

  8. Hugs to Sharon and her family. I am glad your Mom is at a dog-friendly facility. Our fuzzy friends are a great help to residents and families alike.

Roxie is so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The bandana with doggeh bones on it is the cutest evar. And Roxie wears it with such style! ❤

  9. Somebody’s got a little Captain in her !

I’m pretty sure she’s been “checking” on the rum. I mean look at those eyes!

  12. Get her a firework head scarf and attach glittery sproingy things and she can be a celebration for New Year.
Blessings to you, your pup, your mom, her facility and workers and your family.

  13. slstringer says:

I’m knitting her Veterans Day ensemble. I figure if I start now, I should be done by November. She’s quite the little ham. She was in a show in Chicago for almost 2 years, and she REALLY padded her role.

  14. Smartypants says:

I can’t wait to see the dreidel costume!

  15. Adorable!! Please tell me that is not a pierced earring!!!

  16. Right on. My mom suffered from Alzheimer’s too, and animals were great therapy. Fantastic therapy, really.
