Behold, the Hyperloop!

A futuristic supersonic transportation tube, whisking chipmunks from Fresno to Cucamonga! The future is here!

Wendy H. writes: “After an ice storm, we had to have the wires to our house replaced. In the process they had to replace the old conduit and left it in our back yard. We had no idea where to get rid of it, so there it sits, useless, or so we thought. My husband was out in the yard and realized this ‘useless’ conduit has become part of a chipmunk super highway and was able to catch a shot of this little guy (or girl) exiting. It was just too cute not to submit.”

  1. Chipmunk super highway? This needs to be a real thing.

  2. Train leaving on track 5 for Anaheim, Azusa, and Cu-

  3. I am totally putting piping in my back yard! Wonder what happens when 2 meet in the middle?

  4. fleurdamour says:

    Created by Elon Muskrat!

  5. fleurdamour says:

I think it kind of is.

  6. Watch out for that left turn at Albuquerque.

  7. Killer Klown says:

(Points above) Pics. It _did_ happen.

  8. John B Hodges says:

Growing up in the 1950’s and 1960’s, my family had 2 acres of land in a semi-rural setting. Over the years we learned that “if you leave a pile of ANYTHING lying out long enough, something will come and live in it.” A stack of cut wood had a possum; a pile of leaves had a turtle; a stack of old pipe had a blacksnake.

  9. IT: I found the problem with your internet connection .. There’s a chipmonk in the pipe.

  10. Knowing chipmonk, they might be able to get past each other .. Crazy little contortionists

  11. Smartypants says:

It’s like those office mail tubes you see in old movies – where you put the mail in a capsule in one end, and the pressurized air whooshes it to the destination! Chipmunk sez “whee!”

  12. We have those at work! (Maybe this is what happens when the tube system is down-they send the chipmunks to check it out. Keeps costs down.)

  13. “Somebody sended their lunch in the tube again! Don’t worry, I eated it! All clear nao!”
