A Pelican, Briefly

A customer stops by inquiring about the daily specials in Little Venice on Mykonos Island in Greece.

From the Canon EOS Rebel T4i of Cuteporter Stanley F.

  1. Just a guess but he’s probably more interested in the sea bass than the waffles. But then again, maybe he’s craving an octopus cocktail.

  2. Theresa says:

Is this Petros? There’s always a pelican named Petros at Mykonos.

  3. What a beauty !!

  4. Agreed.

  5. NoOneInParticular says:

Obviously, he’s looking for the mixed seafood special.

  6. It’s just beautiful………

  7. Looks like he’s waiting for his order to be ready.

  8. Saffron says:

Pelican about to be told that the bathroom is for customers only!

  9. So this pelican walks into a bar and says “I’d like a snort of Ouzo, please” and the bartender says “What is this, a joke?”.

  10. SlaveToCat says:

Just gotta love a White Pelican
Stir in mixing glass with ice & strain
    1 3/4 oz gin
    1/2 oz dry vermouth
    1/4 oz sweet vermouth
Serve in a cocktail glass (4.5 oz)
Serve with Sea Bass and share with feathered friends.

  11. Wait, why isn’t the sign in Greek if the place is in Mykonos? Can the pelican only read English?

  12. Leilani says:

Yes, I’ll have the sea bass to go, please! Just put it in the bag . . . I mean pouch.

  13. annette says:

I actually said “Petros!” out loud when I saw the pic.

  14. phred's mom says:

    Lots of English-speaking tourists there.

  15. phred's mom says:

Lots and lots of English-speaking tourists there.

  16. I’ve seen him in person!! He’s HUGE! I thought he was a statue at first and didn’t take a picture 😦

  17. Sharon Wilson says:

It’s the pelican from “Dolphin Tale!” Hope he behaves himself.

  18. He’s the maitre’d.

  19. Looking for the fresh sea bass I guess. Or maybe a cocktail.

  20. astropunkin says:

Whoa! Petros was there when I visited back in 2004. How long to Pelicans live?!

  21. astropunkin says:

  22. Anneother says:

There was a lovely film called Nicostratos the Pelican about a boy and his pelican on a Greek island. Marketed as a childrens’ movie but a real tearjerker for animal lovers.

  23. Anneother says:

With a happy ending, might I add.

  24. Might not be the same Petros as in 2004………. It’s right outside of Nikos restaurant, the most beautiful place on earth!
