Cute Overload :D
It’s a girl! We know you peeps are so good at this, otherwise we wouldn’t ask!
Chongqing Zoo, southwest China, has launched a competition to find a name for a newborn baby orangutan born to parents Bo Yi and Kou Lai La.” according to The Telegraph.
I’ve always thought an orangutan should be named Orange Tang, after the space food breakfast drink. I used to confuse the two when I was very small.
She shall be called Elizabeth, after Good Queen Bess. Note the similarities in hair color and hairline.
Look at the strange little endangered creature! Second Elizabeth!
Ooma — No reason
The baby should be named Columbia
No, no, not the second, Elizabeth the third!
And how hard was it to dissolve the orangutan in water?
Ponyo, like the super-powered little red-headed kid in the Studio Ghibli film. Bonus: It translates roughly as “Pudge.”
Orangyouglad you’re cute? We are!
Staying with the royal theme, I vote for naming her Princess Merida after the red-haired protagonist in “Brave”.
She should be named something perfectly suited to her, like Pearl, or Janet, or Melissa.
I looked at her and the first name that popped into my head was ‘Imelda’. I think it fits!
Malaya is a spanish name that means “Free”, and Darby is an Irish name that means the same. both are for girls – and both are for the hope that her kind will someday be free of the problems humans bring them.
Cara and Vida both mean “dearly loved” while Beatrix means “she who brings happiness.
BoBo just popped into my head for some reason :)
Marcia. I don’t know why, but that was the first thing that popped into my head. Marcia, Marcia, Marcia.
I thought Lulu when I first saw her, then Jazz came to mind xx
How bout “La-La”?
Bola jumped into haid. it hurt some ,was worth it…
Aggravata, for her body language…
I think she’s a Fergie.
In honour of the 1950’s comedian and the orang’s parents, I propose:
Ethel, ester, astrid or olive oil
Lucy for short. Works for me. She totally looks like a Lucy. :)
I’m loving Lucy!
Lol, but can’t call her Luc-EBoLa! :-(
how about naming her “Tang”…. she is kinda orange…
Pooky! No reason at all. She just looks like Pooky to me. :)
The title of the photo implicates that the ape is an orangutanG, which is stupid, because the proper term is ORANGUTAN, NO G on the end, EVER!!!
Well, how about a combo of dad/mom — BoKou.
Yi Lai :)
Um, gang? NOBODY knows the Librarian’s name! And (s)he ain’t tellin’!)
Someone must have already suggested the obvious–Scarlett O’Hairy!
