Hey, it Worked in that Pixar Movie

Day 4: Still not floating. Felt momentarily lighter, but that turned out to be just gas. Will continue experiments tomorrow with more balloons.

Curtis S. tells us: “This tortoise lives at a pet supply store called Animal Kingdom in Brewster, NY. His name is Turbo and he’s allowed to wander the store with balloons attached so everyone knows his location. He’s very sweet.”

  1. The Original Jane says:

Are those buck teeth? Hello David Letterman!

  2. I don’t know…this reminds me too much of a not-so-nice news story of a tortoise who had to be rescued from a tree because some lame-brain tied balloons to him and sent him flying.

  3. Better than GPS!

  4. ZeppthePug says:

Yup, because this is totally the same thing.

  5. Turbo the tortoise! Sounds like a great name for a cartoon. But he needs more balloons to get lift off.

  6. Love the monster music: Attack of the tortoise 😆

  7. That is “Mars, the Bringer of War” from The Planets by Gustav Holst, one of my favorite works of classical music. 🙂

  8. Indeed! I think it lends the tortoise added gravitas.

  9. The Original Jane says:

Wait, looks more like Hannibal! yikes!

  10. Me, too – but then again, all tortoises have a certain gravitas. They’re amazing creatures, even with balloons attached to them!

  11. lisaLASSIE says:

This is a great idea, to let tortoise have some exercise and yet be safe/.

  12. They named their turtle Turbo. classic.

  13. tetegrondona says:

I don’t think they have a “certain” gravitas, they have LOTS !!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Yup, I loff it too.

  15. metsakins says:

OMGPonies!!! I shop in that same center all the time. and I’ve been missing it!

  16. I shop there all the time! Turbo is awesome and the staff and clients love him!! He is a rescue and they give him a wonderful permanent home.

  17. bob drummond says:

this guy is always welcome to come visit me in my home !!! GOD bless him !!!
