Holy Bat Babies, Batman!

With the new Batman movie opening all over Gotham City today, we thought it would be fun to check out these little maniacs.

The BuzzFeed Rises.
//UPDATE// Since we posted this at midnight last night, there was a senseless tragedy in Aurora, CO. We’re just sick about it, and send our condolences to families of the victims. – Meg //UPDATE//

    • bookmonstercats says:

Welllll…. you can understand where all the gothic horror stories come from.

      Loffs me some bats.

    • Victoria, Mom to 4 Rats (and one spoiled kitty) says:

Not cute? Really? Tries very hard to comprehend a mind that does not equate baby bats with teh cute. (but, but, the big brown eyes, the little black nosies!). Mind asplodes with the pressure.

Nope. I don’t get it. Baby bats DO equal teh cute.
Then again, there are some critters that other people equate to teh cute that I just can’t. Like monkeys. *Shivers*

  2. victoreia says:

  3. Theresa says:

  4. Hannah says:

Adorable! I love bats :) They’re just fluffy balls with beady eyes and wings: how could that not be cute?

  5. Jose says:

That first picture is priceless, bat burritos for everyone!

    • Mamabear says:

*Takes burrito but doesn’t unwrap it because I prefer not seeing the spindly appendages* I want so bad to love the whole bat, but the head just doesn’t match the body. Such a cute and kind face and then…ahhhhhh!! Ohhh god the humanity!

  6. doomchild says:

The third photo should not be here. Or anywhere else. It just stole my soul, and I think I can feel my brain oozing out from my ears. Eyes hurt from staring at the photo. … aaand I just scrolled up to look at it again. I – Must – Stop!

    *scrolls up*

All these pictures just drive me batty !!! I just luuuuuuvvvv “em !!!
They’re all so cute— little, furry , big black eyes –YAHHHH ! Sooooo cuuuuuute !!!

  8. Meaghan says:

I’m like 95% sure that this species invades my house every summer and I have to evict them. I capture them with a towel and carry them outside, and then the next night they come back.

    • bob drummond says:

Close the windows !!!….. and the screens ,thank you !!!

      • Meaghan says:

I did. I don’t know how they keep getting in. It’s a really old Victorian house and there’s probably a hole here or there.

        • Scout C says:

If you have a fireplace, check to be sure the damper is fully closed. If they are little brown bats (real name, not just subjective description), they are like mice and can get in through tiny openings, so check the caulking around windows, dryer vents, and any other openings to your home. Having been bitten by one that got into a lake cottage and going through the rabies vaccination series (better than in days gone by but still a – literal – pain in the tush) I find it difficult to find them “cute.” The flying foxes, okay.

        • THey are probably entering through the attic at the air vents. go in your attic and look where the roof and the walls meet. you will find where they are getting in.. or better yet have an exterminator come in to help you locate egress they can set up nets that the bats can get out but not back in so no bats are hurt that way. I am guessing there is a possible nest in your attic. SO you get rid of one and onother just comes down.

          • 6rabbits says:

NOT exterminators!!! EXCLUDERS!! Exterminators KILL the bats. Here is a link to Bat World’s page on bats in buildings. There is a link which will take you to listings of professional excluders provided by Bat Conservation International. You can also download DIY instructions here. The bats thank you! :-)

  12. After what just happened in Colorado, thank you for spreading the bat-related cute. People need to have bat-related cute to counteract something so horrible.

    • 260Oakley says:

Yes, these are little goodwill embatsadors.

    • kar says:

What the f@#%$ is wrong with people?

Now they’re banning costumes and backpacks at the theaters near me.

      • bob drummond says:

Too bad some real bats didn’t show up -maybe they could’ve counter-attacked ! (Just wishful speculation !) May the good LORD help those people who were hurt by that sadistic madman !!!

  13. maggie says:

I love that there are several different species represented! With white nose syndrome decimating the population in the northeast I don’t get to see as many as I’d like to. We used to have families (including babies) in the barn but for the last few years there’s only been one.
