I Do All My Writing Here

Thank goodness for Starpugs.

What is that refreshing-looking pink concoction? Whatever it is, I think I want one. Oh, and the pug is very cute too.

  2. Aurhora says:

Oh look at the moist eyes on that bebe!

    • ceejoe says:

And the worried eyebrows! He looks like he’s thinking, Are you going to eat that whole thing and leave none for moi?!?

  3. Rachael says:

Pugster ordered a venti, not a grande. :(

  4. Wordphreak says:

Thats gross. There’s a reason there are ordinances forbidding dogs in good establishments. And as someone who is allergic to dogs (even tho I love them), I think its rude and thoughtless as well. If I were the next person to use that chair or table, I would be in very bad shape indeed.

It’s not IN the Starbucks, it’s outdoors.

      • bob drummond says:

        Then it’s acceptable ,right ???
Besides how can you ignore that FACE ???

    • Shannomo says:

Perhaps you are on the wrong website?

    • ceejoe says:

Sigh… aren’t we being a little harsh? There’s a big difference between causing someone to sneeze and being unsanitary.

You don’t want to go to Italy then Wordphreak ! I was walking through the Mercado Central in Florence & there were two dogs getting a hand out from one of the butcher stalls. The butcher was tossing scraps over the counter to the two pups & they were sitting like very well behaved pups enjoying their treat! Then when it was all done they just trotted back out like this was a daily thing. (I found out it was )
Btw, the market is indoors. The funny thing is in Italy people rarely ever touch the produce themselves.. Either the person at every stall ,or the the store owner puts the food in the bags or at the new grocery stores EVERYONE puts on plastic gloves to handle produce. AND they use a new glove for every item. Someone NOT using the gloves will catch h*ll from everyone around if they don’t.. Shopping for food in Italy is very different from here in the states! But it was a wonderful experience.

One more reason to love Italy!!!

In Austria you can take dogs to coffee houses, pubs and some restaurants but they have to stay on the floor, on a leash. You cannot take Fido or Fifi into supermarkets or butcher shops or anywhere where foodstuffs are sold. They have these hooks where you tie your dog while you nip in to buy your bread, meat, cheese, get etc. Some hotels accept 4-legged guests, but ask their humans to not let them on the furniture.

My sister lives in Salem, MA and it’s very dog friendly…. if they can’t go in the store/eatery, they at least put water out for the dogs walking around the town.

Starpugs coffee tastes like old socks, but that fruit thingy looks pretty tasty!

  7. yolanda says:

Here in my city they’re not even allowed on the patio (which is where this pug is, outside, not inside). Sure, a sparrow can crap in my cappuccino but my hairless non-allergenic dog can’t sit on my lap at an outdoor table on the sidewalk. What’s the sense in that?

    • E.a. Solinas says:

Don’t forget that squirrels can come by and harass you! But not your dog!

      • Meaghan says:

And if your dog tries to harass the squirrels it gets kicked out for barking and annoying people.

        • lds7yrs says:

I knew there was a reason I didn’t like – a certain coffee establishment- which shall remain nameless in my comment. ;)

    • The Original Jane says:

yolanda, where do you live? More and more towns/cities in the states are allowing dogs – at the very least at outside cafes.

  8. SlaveToCat says:

What a cute sad pup, all like “I ain’t gonna eat that thing bring it back and get something good.”

I get that same expression when I go out for Sunday Brunch and the “know-it-all” do gooders place a pink grapefruit thing in front of me. When what I really want, the few times I go out, is the chocolate mouse, sticky buns, and BACON!!!!.

    • Sharpy says:

you found a place that serves them dipped in chocolate? cats are leaning to dial so they can make reservations right NOW!

  9. kaggs says:

Aww it’s Hachibei! He’s mighty popular on Instagram too! It’s nice that he’s making an appearance here. :)

  10. tracylee says:

aw, my girl loves going to Schnozzbucks with me. It’s cool and shady under the awning, they have bowls of water set out, and she gets ear skritchings galore from the passersby!

  12. Esther says:

The pooch is on a patio with his owner, not inside…although it looks like it at first glance. But if you look at the ground and see the asphalt and see the reflectiony look behind them, you can tell they are outdoors. I can see where the door is. Anyways, very cute doggie and that treat does look good :)

  13. Gigi says:

Any dog spoiled enough to be taken to a coffee shop or restaurant by his human will probably be cleaner that most kids and half of the adults in the place!
And as for allergies, carry your medicine or stay home. I’m allergic to perfume, but I don’t expect the rest of the world to not wear perfume because I’M allergic.

    • skippymom says:

      Amen.

    • dubyah1 says:

Guys, don’t be mean to wheezy hyoomans: many get deathly sick [not a little sneezy/sensitivity, but can't breathe] from the dander [not the hair] of the anipals we all love, so ‘bringing medicine’ or ‘taking a pill’ is not going to prevent coughing spaghetti-like phlegm out of their lungs because someone else thought they were entitled to disobey ‘No pets’ signs.
So happily the pug is outside, and we can ALL take a deeeep heeeeeling/heeeealing breff.
Come back, Wordphreak! We love you!

      • Gigi says:

As my old saintly mother used to say; You reap that you sow.
You don’t want negative post you don’t start your comment on a post that shows a cute pup with “That’s gross”. It’s as simple as that.

        • dubyah1 says:

True dat! CO is probably the only place Wordphreak and many others can enjoy truly ‘non-allergenic’ fuzziwuzziness worry-free.

  14. Red Toenails says:

Pugs are so ugly they’re cute.

    • catapalooza says:

I guess you might call them pugly….first attempt here…..

      • Red Toenails says:

        Ha!

        • erica says:

I have 2 and they’re the best dogs ever!!! One chubby 30+ pounder and a little, scrawny 12 pounder. They’re just plain old cute to me! And they have the best personalities.

  15. Marie says:

What a super awesome shot! Lol!

And the puns were ready made. Not that I could come up with them. The more I come here the more I realize I suck at puns.

  16. Saffron says:

Back in my sales days I used to make calls on a primary care physician who kept a doggeh in his office. Doggeh and office were both suuuper clean and the dog made a difference in people who get nervous over visiting doctors (honestly I wish my dentist had a nice puppy or kitten to snuggle!!! ). I LOVED calling on that office – highlight: while I was talking to the doc, the doggeh stuck his schnozz in my bag and ate a half roll of breath mints! After determining eating those did not harm him, both doc and I cracked up.
    I miss that doggeh!

    • erica says:

My dentist has a retriever and then got a puppy retriever. The older one was therapy dog and would come sit by you so you could pat her head while getting work done. He did say he lost quite a few patients… but I thought it was awesome!

Any chance the cutie at the counter can qualify for the ‘Men of Cute Overload’ calender?

  18. gmarie3 says:

“M-m-m-m-m, just having a little coffee and dessert after my yummy bacon dinner!”

  19. blair says:

this pug has apparently not learned to use his opposable thumbs, which pugs now know they has for just such an emergency

  20. kodalai says:

This is somewhere in Japan, yes?

  21. UsaPyon says:

Almost looks like the location is South Korea… Pets are allowed in shops there. There’s dog cafes and cat cafes there too :D
