Have you heard, about the bird?
Papa-ooh-mah-gah, this bird is absurd!
With apologies to The Trashmen, who have a bit of apologizing to do of their own.

The bird’s the word!
“Rockin’ Robin…..tweet!! Tweet!!!….” 🙂
Bird flies the coupe
This is funny, how?
Little bird catchin’ a ride, goin’ fast, too cute! Nobody got hurt and the people inside had a close encounter with nature.
Little wing, slight U-turn.
not funny. the bird probably couldn’t figure out how to get off. the driver needed to stop and let the bird go.
It didn’t look like the bird was in any distress, and it flew away just fine at the end. It might have been looking at its reflection in the car window, and when they rolled down the window, that other mysterious bird vanished!
I am with you sara and Cambridge Rat Mom. If birdie was on the side of my car like that I would pull and then he did not have to fly off in the wind shear. Yep, I know birds can do that but still…
Sorry about negativity. 😦
I shall now post this vid of cats playing pattycake with awesome commentary.
Why fly when you can ride?
Well done!
I wouldn’t have rolled down the window but that’s just me. I’d freak if the bird flew in the car. 🙂
Not so cute. That looked like a fledgling (young bird that recently left the nest). They tend to sit tight wherever they are, and wait for mom and dad to feed them. His parents probably won’t find him again. They also aren’t good fliers. So his jumping of the car at full speed probably did not end well :(.
Saffron, I’ve watched that pattycake vid maybe 50 times and it never fails to crack me up. What a riot!!
Probably got his nail stuck in the window trim…
Jo – they didn’t go far, looks like they just passed the front of a school. If its a fledge (I don’t think so) it will be fine. But I still am not happy about this either…
The bird is the word…
That lil bird was super cute and even if he was a fledgling he didn’t seem scared when the window was up (he was probably watching his reflection…birds , especially male ones, love that)… but as a bird lover I can’t help but worry for him when he jumped the car, those folks though no doubt meaning well, should have pulled over!
and sorry CO if I’m being nuffy… I just love me some birds
That bird’s a House Sparrow and just a fledgling too. It probably wasn’t very good at flying yet so just didn’t know how to fly off.
This vid’s commentary is too funny!! 😀
I can’t say that my first thought would be “roll the window down”, but I guess I haven’t been in that situation before.
sad not funny
😦
Baby House Sparrow..
Sad,not cute.
Obviously this bird saw the Florida tags and thought he could hitch a ride rather than fly down to Miami.
This is just what I needed to cheer me up ! I’ve been out sick on disability about six weeks now and I’m getting very depressed about it . I watch cute overload alot because I have little else to do ! But I enjoy a good laff now and then ! thanx again c.o. !
Where are people getting the idea that it’s a fledgeling? I see a female house sparrow that took off under her own power. No idea why she landed on the window, but then I had a sparrow land on my head once. They do strange things.
Hysterical! Thanks for sharing! 😆
You said it Rachel. Me too. This must be one of the funniest voice overs EVAH.
Yeah, I’ve been wondering why everyone’s convinced that this is a fledgling, too. That tail sure looks like an adult’s tail to me. And we had a bumper crop of sparrows this year, so I’ve seen quite a few fledglings lately.
Not that I’m criticizing people’s caring about the well being of the bird!
Keep strong bob and keep CO-ing, it helps us all! Take care.
Looked more like fuzz than feathers on that bird, so not quite an adult.
Maybe it was just the wind blowing the feathers.
Outstanding as always! 😆
And now, a pigeon nonchalantly car surfs…
When the first car parked, the pigeon immediately left and hitched a ride on another moving car. He was enjoying the rides!
This is not funny. This is a baby House Sparrow (note the yellow baby gapes in the corner of the bird’s mouth). He cannot fly well, and has fluttered onto a moving vehicle, being taken blocks away from the parents who are still feeding him. He is waved off into a busy street with oncoming cars. Not good. 😦
Yes, indeed. Note my response above.
You can tell that it is a baby by the yellow “gapes” in the corner of the mouth/beak.
