As cute as it might be, McPudgyhedgie here might be better off NOT getting its belly button pierced! Oooch.

Oh The Rotundity, Jo D.!

Oh noes! Don’t let him have that wafer-thin mint!
I don’t think there is a belly button on this. He is so round…Soo Cute….
Looks like he’s part puffer fish.
He does! He does!
LOL
how does one roll into a ball when one already is?
Can s/he roll into a ball?
I think s/he’s already there.
I think such a puncture would result in the hedgie flying around the room.
I am reminded of a water balloon.
Puffer Fish with laigs!
Someone needs Beano “toot” suite!
Oh you did not just write that…
my goodness what blobbulence!
(say/ sing in James Brown “SHOUT-OUT”) GOOD GAHD
Too much milk and bread.
This is what happens when you eat too much cherry garcia!
I keep asking why USA has no hedgehogs? This is a horrible thing. Why didn’t the Founding Fathers get us some?
Becuase they had 2 B imported , that’s Y !!!
Why what a brilliant and important question. I suggest you take it up with the Supreme Cute Court immediately if not sooner.
A real live hoggybank! Can’t see the slot in the back, but like the hindpaw ‘Ehn!’
Reminds me of the Pink Floyd pig balloons.

Do hedgies let you pet their soft underbellehs?
Signed,
Curiously Curious
yes, when they are use to you:) Or if you distract them with meal worms…
it depends on how comfortable they are with you! i always nuzzled my hedgie so she was quite comfy
I wonder how that thing can stand on those thin spindley legs.
It’s the miracle of the square-cube law: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Square-cube_law#Biomechanics
WOT?! you can’t kill ants by dropping them off things!
“Air resistance per unit mass is also higher for smaller animals, which is why a small animal like an ant cannot be crushed by falling from any height.”

Well, he doesn’t have to worry about drowining, I’m pretty sure he can’t sink o.O Time for a diet I would think
Thats what happened to my little turtle Nash . He got so plump that he cuoldn’t pull his little head in . So I looked himm in the face and said Kid you’re going on a diet ! He just looked at me !
He reminds me a bit of my cat Dante, who can’t lie flat on his back because of his roundness.
I love his slightly rueful expression. “Yes…erm…I think I might have got a bit carried away at the all-you-can-eat buffet…”
It’s definitely very cute, but I don’t think it is healthy. Might be someting wrong there…We have a lot of hedgehogs in our neighbourhood, but I never saw one this puffed, and indeed, it will not be able to roll into a ball for defence.
This needs a Cute or Sad tag. This baby is wayyy too round….
Yes, kinda sad, I am worried for McHedgerson’s health!
I thought McPudgyHedgie was a Mrs. McPudgyHedgie and was pregnant!
This poor hedgehog is suffering from a condition that is basically air under the skin. It can kill them. Easy to fix by a vet where they basically insert a hollow needle under the skin and allow the air to escape. The hog is then given antibiotics to help heal the underlying tissue.
How does it get in there in the first place?
Don’t worry people, it’s photoshopped. He might be a bit rotund, but the proportions are mostly the result of shrinking his head.
a-HA! that explains the resemblance to woody allen.
It doesnt seem photoshopped, but more like the inflating hedgehog illness. The inflation thing doesnt seem to be too bad a problem, since the treatment sounds fairly simple.
Not too bad a problem as long as it gets treated,I mean of corse.
I”ve raised hedgehogs, there is no such thing as “air under the skin.” It’s either fat or pregnant.
BTW, on the males, what looks like a bellybutton…isn’t!

i should say that settles that.
