    eyebrow dots really
should be a rule of cuteness.
    she has lovely ones!

  4. I’m on my way to lead a “Non-Violent Crisis Intervention” course in my workplace. Do you think I should suggest that we hand out ice cream cones and puppeh dogs when it appears someone in the middle of a crisis needs a non-violent-type of intervention?

    • Tessamo says:

I vote we hand a cone and puppeh to all world leaders, too. :-)

      • 6rabbits says:

Srsly! How could anyone advocate aggression with a fluffy bit-’o-cuteness in their hands?! Perhaps we need to send a contingent to our senators and representatives…hmm? It could only improve things!
[Oh...my sister is pointing out that some people have allergies, so we need a plan B]

    • Madame X says:

Yes! Ice cream cones and puppehs. Or bunnehs. Unless the intervenee has low self-esteem, in which case bunniferous disapproval may exacerbate the condition…

Kittehs are also a good alternative.

      • and baby chicks, and ducklings, they are warm and floofy and calming. and maybe we should add those cute little munkeys too, and baby piglets, and well you know… baby bears, and baby tigers, and well pretty much any baby animal would work wouldn’t it :)

    • Mary (the first) says:

As long as they won’t be violent to the puppeh, sure!

    • Mudbug says:

      YES !!! That’s a perfect response Pennefeather !

    • kiragirl says:

      beginning crisis mode in 3…2…1

    • Fird Birfle says:

      @ RPB: well, DUH …. :)

(Meant to be a positive affirmation, in a mischevious way…)

  5. 260Oakley says:

    Ice cream tastes better
When you lick it off your nose
    (I can do that, peeps!)

  6. Sprock says:

    There’s no waffling here
I loves me the ice cream cone
    More sprinkles next time

  7. pyrit says:

Today’s Friday Haiku is in honor of the birthday of Kobayashi Issa, or known simply as Issa, one of the most famous haiku poets! If he was still alive he would be 249 years old today, June 15.
    I like this one:

    A world of trials,
    and if the cherry blossoms,
    it simply blossoms

    • andi in NC says:

I always learn something interesting here – thanks for the historical tidbit!

      • dubyah1 says:

        Ditto-thanks for the history lesson!
So, if one writes a haiku [an haiku?] about a no-win situation for a certain CO favourite, would that be:

        Clean floor, too-small box:
        A Kobayashi Maru
        Manoeuvre oeuvre

        • Alice Shortcake says:

Maru’s experiments with the Slim Box crack me up every time!

        • dubyah1 says:

Aww, no fellow Star Trek geeks? Ratty rats.

          • wannadance says:

maru creates unseemly laffing and subsequent wheezing in me. i love to watch him think and calculate.

          • Moooo says:

Yes massive geek here *waves* I got it and it was ace :)

          • 6rabbits says:

“A Kobayashi Maru” *bowing to the cleverness*

        • Tessamo says:

Golf clap for dubyah1. Watching Star Trek now…Maru knows the pain of a no-win box!

          • dubyah1 says:

Whew! Thanks, fellow Trekkies, I should have trusted in the Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations that is CO.

  8. andi in NC says:

    puppeh licks gently
my heart melts like the ice cream
    what makes her eyes sad?

  9. Mary (the first) says:

    Happiness is not
    a warm puppy, but instead
    Pup and ice cream cone.

  10. Mary (the first) says:

mod lounge, for that?? I sure hope there are some warm muffins in here. (Pups also welcome!)

  11. Sunny doggone day.
Ice cream Slurping, Oh so good.
    Happy Puppeh Dog.

(Closes eyes, crosses fingers, hopes poem is not snagged in the Mod Machine, Presses post comment)

  12. mtkees says:

Yea for Missoula’s Big Dipper ice cream! And yes, my doggehs love their free ‘cream when we go too.

  13. Ziggy says:

The Dairy Queen in my neighborhood gives free “pup cups” (vanilla ice cream in a bowl) to all doggies who visit (outside or in the drive-through, not inside). My only “complaint” is that my dogs (100 & 180 lbs.) get the same-size pup cups as the chihuahuas and other small dogs. However, they love every bit of it!

    • skippymom says:

This is totally unfair! They should definitely give bigger cones to the big dogs!
*getting out poster board and paints to make protest sign*

    • kiragirl says:

      can ya superpuppesize it?

  14. Puppeh licks gently
Ice cream cools his hot tummy
    great end to good day!

    • Fird Birfle says:

While this does not include a young doggie, a haiku, *NOR* even an
ice-cream cone….it does still bear some similarity to this post.

*tunes in old black & white analog television*

      • dubyah1 says:

        Owl, how many licks?
“One, too-hoo, three.” Crunch. “Three.” The
        World may never know.

        • Fird Birfle says:

          WOW!!!!

Who’d a thunk that the dialogue in it fits into a haiku format?

          Not ME, by golly!

          Nicely figgered-out. I’m deeply impressed.

  15. A dog and his boy
    play in the summer sunshine.
    and share a sweet treat

  16. I love Haikus! LOL!

  17. Susie-Qute says:

Sweet little puppeh / cannot share his cold ice cream/ for it will melt away

  18. kiragirl says:

    “I eats my ice cream
    sideways, then from the bottom,
    not to miss one drop.”

  19. SlaveToCat says:

    Puppy’s First Ice Cream
    No Lactose Intolerance
    Pup Pines for Sprinkles

  20. dubyah1 says:

    Pop-eye puppeh sez:
‘Whew! When you said, ‘Let’s get cones !,’
    I thought of the vet.’

  21. this cavalier king charles spaniel is the first out of many that i have seen that does look EXACTLY like mine! i showed my mum the picture and she thought it was too! awww adorable!!

    • yvettemn says:

D’aw – people always ask me “is that really a cavie?” so I’m glad to know there are other cavs out there who look like Ceri :)

  22. Batmamma says:

It’s very cute, but I hope not done often. My elderly grandmother had a little black Havanese named Spooky who died of diabetes because of sweet treats like this. My grandmother adored Spooky. If we love our cute friends, let’s not love them to death with foods that do not belong in their diet.

  23. ashagato says:

    melted chocolate
eyes sweet and wet as ice cream
    ‘cept puppeh’s not cold

  24. Saffron says:
