Wherever I Go, He Goes

My Buddy and me!

I love the idea of this great dog bringing his pal everywhere he goes. It immediately made me think of the old “My Buddy” jingle. There are probably a lot of pertinent ad jingles and slogans that would work. Tell us which work for you.

This pack (including the bear) spotted on 5th Ave in NYC by Kristen.

  1. Could be a Kid Sister…

  2. Mary (the first) says:

Notice the other dogs are laughing at him for being such a softie? 😀

  3. kibblenibble says:

People, let me tell you ’bout my beeest friend,
He’s my one boy, cuddly toy,
    My up, my down,
    My pride and my joy!

  4. They’re just jealous.

  5. Wild applause!

  6. We had the same idea!

  7. Once A Fish says:

Anybody else familiar with the Little Golden Book “Rags”? Rags has this little bean bag toy that he carries around everywhere and it even helps Rags save the day. It’s great.

  8. He ain’t heavy he’s my buddy!

  9. I had a poodle who had to carry her bunny everywhere. Actually, it was my little brother’s stuffed bunny and it was almost as big as she was but she had to take it everywhere. And God forbid we would try to take it away from her! Turned out it was a “false pregnancy.”

  10. It’s so sweet that it’s a dog walker who’s walking the goggies – pink bear and all!

  11. Bella: I take my Santa toy everywhere.

  12. Where ever I go, I know, he goes

Where ever I go, I know, She goes

No fights no feuds and no egos

    Amigos! forever!

  13. loff eet ❤

Miss Schozz has taken sticks on walks before, but never a friend like this 🙂

  14. Fird Birfle says:

    caption (“… including the bear”) = 🙂

  15. That pupper (and it looks young still) has such great self esteem it feels nothing but great about bring stuffy along on a walk. And I DIG that man!

  16. you dig the man? well, we don’t know what his face looks like, but since he’s a dog-walker, I imagine he’s probably a contender for the Calendar…

(or do you dig that, man!…?)

    Miss Interpretation

  17. Awwww…I bet you puppers felt like bear needed fresh air too. Shakti used to take Sully everywhere around the house with her.

  18. The second interpretation is the correct one. It was a flashback to Jerry Maguire.

    Miss Behavin’

  19. When I take my pups for a visit to my parents’ house, all I have to do is tell Trixie to “find gingerbread!” and she knows exactly where to go to find a stuffed gingerbread doll my Mom has in a basket with her dog’s toys (Sonia, her pup, wants nothing to do with it so no squabbles). Trixie won’t go anywhere in their house without that “ginger” firmly in her grasp.

  20. Martha in Washington says:

My sons had a story about Rags but it was one of those books with fuzzy pictures. They loved it!

  21. Martha in Washington says:

Well, you just never know when you’ll need a pink teddy bear! Best to always be prepared.

  22. victoreia says:

Maybe the bear is actually carrying his American Express card.

    Don’t leave home without it.

  23. snorglepup says:

It’s a retriever thing. My golden mix takes her baby out for potty time.

  24. “Help, a dog is eating my head!”

  25. You just know that at some point, the puppeh will drop the stuffed teddy, and then the manly man will have to be carrying a pink teddy. 🙂

  26. There’s a dachshund in my neighborhood that has to carry around a stuffed animal that is about a 1/3 of the size of this dog. He always looks so happy!

  27. Jeanette says:

I was going to suggest the song “My Buddy” but upon studying the lyrics, I see that it’s about a buddy who’s gone away. In this instance, clearly, the buddies are inseparable!

  28. I see a guy walking his pit bull every afternoon on my way home and that dog always has a ball in his mouf. It makes my day, every single time.

  29. Copperbat says:

hahaha that’s funny. mine used to try that too. Also “feed” his toys by putting them in his bowl.

  30. Fird Birfle says:

  31. Fird Birfle says:

    Also “hee”. 🙂

  34. SlaveToCat says:

People always giggle when I make the hubby carry the purse when wondering around the mall.

  35. noellesbootcutkittenpants says:

My Rocky dog knows what it means when we tell him to “get your rope” (his rope tug-toy). Our Husky dog, Whompa, used to have a little fleecy gingerbread-man-shaped toy that she would carry around and snuggle with when she went to sleep. Then, when we got Rocky, he kind of, well, destroyed it when he was a puppy and going through teething. Never been able to find another one just like it. We called it her baby.

  36. noellesbootcutkittenpants says:

There’s a guy in my neighborhood who walks his English Bulldogs in the mornings. One of them has a hot pink harness and leash. That always makes me smile.

  37. Like Linus and his blanket!

  38. *psychic flash!!!!* man sitting on bench in dog park holding pink teddy

  39. I had a golden mix who was also happiest when he had a stuffy in his mouth. Don’t think he ever took one on a walk though. He never had a favorite but preferred mine when he could get his mouth on it. He never just took it, he always traded one of his for it, and then he would proudly come and show me his prize. Wasn’t the brightest, but he was always so happy.

  40. I am embarrassed to say that my first dog (also a corgi) never took a toy on a walk, but several times came home with them. A couple of our neighbors had dogs who would leave many toys outside in the yard. If the dogs were out, she’d stop to sniff hi and, much to my chagrin, help herself to their neglected toys. She was very quick and sneaky, and being low to the ground, it was difficult to see that she had anything in her mouth. She made sure to walk like a little lady the rest of the way home and not do anything to draw attention to herself. We’d find dirty old tennis balls, chewed up rawhides, squeakies (which she knew not to squeak until she got into the house!), etc., that we had not given her. Then the next time around, we’d return the items to their rightful owners. She did not like to leave toys outside (except tennis balls) and would carry her toys back into the house when we went in— maybe she was afraid the neighbor dogs would retaliate. I miss that doggie! Love the one I have now, but still miss that one. :o(

  41. My brother had a yellow Lab with some drooly problem. Damage to furniture, rugs, etc. was avoided by having 2 washable stuffies. The dog had one in his mouth anythime he was not eating. My brother alternated the 2 so each could be washed when it got really soggy and smelly.

  42. No, but that’s adorable!

  43. I have two dachshunds. Lucy has a ‘baby’..actually it was a stuffed dog that within a half hour of getting it, she has the squeaker removed and most of the stuffing. Now it basically is just the skin. But, it goes where she goes. If I go downstairs to read, she comes with, pretty soon she is running up the stairs, ears flapping like little pony tails and pretty soon she is coming down with baby.
Ricky on the other hand drags his purple bed around. I draw the line about dragging it on a walk though.

  44. Aww. How sweet!

  45. The personalities they have! Sweet story

  46. Through thick or through thin,
    All out or all in,
And whether it’s win, place or shooooooow!
    It’s me for you,
    And you for me,
We’ll muddle through whatever we do.
    We go!

  47. Which would go with his pink shoes…

  48. snarkygirls9 says:

Remember Gus who loved his portable pool so much he dragged it in the house? http://www.funniestvideosonline.com/video.php?video=2165&Dog_Tries_to_Drag_His_Pool_Inside

  49. Ahahahhah!!! Having a visual of the hubby carrying the purse in the mall.

  50. Kariann65 says:

Whatever!! He’s adorable and I think the others can’t wait to stop and play with him!!

  51. I’ve seen a woman walking her two big dogs in my neighborhood a few times. One of them is always carrying the same stuffed animal. It delights me every time I see it!

  52. munkeylover says:

  54. nazani14 says:

I fostered a boxer/mastiff mix that carried around a stuffed toy elephant. I think he never had a toy before. Yes, he got a great home!
