This video is so hootin’ cute it’ll spin your head around. Where do we sign up to give head scritchies to owlets? Is there, like, a waiting list or something?

Owls: the bestest birds there is.

  3. Gigi says:

I love owls, they are my all time favorite birds.

  4. Starfish says:

Huh… I make a post about a cat that looks like an owl, then Meg posts owls. Coincidence, or have I just been a good boy today?

I love the “jealous” owl. He’s all “Just you wait, buddy. I’m gonna get mine soon.”

  5. nywvblue says:

Amazing….and the music is PERFECTLY chosen. (Especially at 1:03!)

Owl be seeing you in owl the owl familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces owl day through
In that small cafe, the park across the way
The children’s carousel, the chestnut trees, the wishing well

Owl be seeing you in every lovely summer’s day
In everything that’s light and gay
Owl owlways think of you that way
Owl find you in the morning sun
And when the night is new
Owl be looking at the moon
    But owl be seeing you

That baby owl reminds me of Harry Potter’s owl when he first goes to Hogwarts. His is a baby and makes mistakes and is very cute.

      Pidgwidgeon.

      • victoreia says:

Um, Pigwideon is Ron’s owl; Ron gets him during their fourth year.

        • ashagato says:

          Hedwig.

          • ralfast says:

Hedwig is too big for this guy. Pig is just the right size, and yes, I know it is a gift from Sirus to Ron at the end of his third year (Pig delivers the letter to Harry saying that he is alright after he escapes the castle). Pig just seems to fit the size and personality of the owl getting the scritches.

          • Susan says:

Hedwig is a snowy owl. Her body double is a male snowy owl! You can see in different scenes that sometimes she has brown spots (female) and sometimes she is more white (male). One of the best reasons to live in England, or in Italy, apparently, since it seems that’s where this video was shot, is that unlike in the US, it’s not illegal to have an owl for a pet. Lucky Europeans!

This is very cute. We would welcome an owl into our yard if one landed there.

Love the sleepy owl – and love the music – it makes we want to drift off into wondrous, owl-scritching dreamland of rainbows and kitty cats…. honk shu… honk shu….

  15. LunaChickFringe says:

That’s the same blissed out look my Jinx get when I give her head scritches. That is also the same “angry” look I get from her sister Lily when I pet Jinx.

  16. Beff says:

*head tilt* Why is it tagged “Pups”?

  17. Jessy says:

At 1:04, you can see an owl’s nictitating membranes (second eyelids) retracting . . . very cool.

  18. Kar says:

Seriously, how satisfied can an owl look?

  19. Cocoloco says:

Owls eat squirrels little baby birds etc please do not admire the owls!!!! They are evil things that kill our favorite babies! Sure they look cute but that is their om. Owls are evil because they eat cute babies.

  20. ashagato says:

that baby owl’s sweet loving expression has to be the cutest thing I’ve ever seen…

  21. Alice Shortcake says:

I think the Owl Petter has discovered the owl’s erogenous zones…

  22. Jude says:

Sorry to spoil the fun, but owls don’t belong enchained on a fun fair. I hate it when they display wild animals like that. Makes unconscious people want to have them as pets and treat them like ss….. inappropriately.

    • SFL says:

Actually, they’re not pets but part of a falconry group that regularly performs at county fairs and medieval re-enactments festivals…

    • 6Rabbits says:

[Unconscious] means “without awareness, sensation, or cognition.”
I believe you meant [unconscientious], which means without “the inner sense of what is right or wrong in one’s conduct or motives.”

  23. Sooo sweet! :) And nice Harry Potter style music….

  24. f. says:

So between the main owl’s expressions. the mood-dependent music, and the jealous owls’ drama, I’m pretty sure this is actually the set-up to a long-lost Chuck Jones-animated Looney Tunes cartoon…

  25. Nehama V. says:

    Aw!!! Such a happy owlet!

  26. SlaveToCat says:

That was more relaxing than a Hollywood Martini, (a pour of Valium, splash of xanax, a pinch of ambien, and a drip of morphine all shaken together with gin and a sprinkling of pixar dust).

    Nap nap time…….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  27. phred's mom says:

too bad her manicure is so chipped, her hands have been seen by a bajillion
people; nonetheless she is immortalized by her perfect technique. The owlie
obviously doesn’t -pardon me- give a hoot about her nails. He is in heaven.

  28. megamissystar says:

I wanna just lean thru the screen and kiss that baby right on its sweet little head.
