Will CO accept my Scottish dialect suggestion?
The bonny pony fae near Glasgee
Aye, she kannae take much mare.
If she dinnae pluck her auld eye broos
She’d look aboot like a highland coo.
thank you for taking time to share the proper dialectical expression, but this is CO, and we pretty much will go for a good 4-line rhyme over properness..
Aye, laddie; Ai dinna unnerstand the wee ditty!!!!
But it’s surely, dialogue from Scottie/ ST !!! As soon as evahr
ya hear “she cannae take na’ moahr….”
Aye, lassie; I unnerstand all the wee ditty except the last word . . . Highland coo?
If take much moo= take much more; then Highland coo= Highland core? Nay . . . and I have a bit o’ Scots blood runnin’ through me veins, too . . . not tae be confuse with Scotch blood, which I may have had a time or tae, also, in me younger days.
Heeland coo=Highland cow. They look like Neanderthal coos, er, cows.
Thanks, Meliss, me lass . . . they do have that “out of the mists of time” air about them.
A Highland Coo fer ye.

But, where are his knees?!
(please consider this as a corollary to the dialogue from the 1920s novel and 1940s film Treasure/ Sierra Madre… approximately “badges??? We don’ need no stinkin’ BADGES….”; which an article in Wikip. states, is inaccurate in re. the original novel)
” ‘KNEES’ “????? WE don’ need no stinkin’ KNEES!!!!111!!!!”
See, I always hear that line as done in Blazing Saddles…..
TINEEEE PONEEEEEE!
Yet another place in the world where I would be unable to stop prancing around, singing the My Little Pony themesong.

Irish horses, however, are a different matter.
I will add my response, to Gigi’s:

the Irish pony in question is actually quite a lovely fellow/ “lil’ lady” …..)
