  1. The Clash cover owns my soul.

  2. I am hooked

  3. Yes, kittens belong on album covers because they are Long Playing and prone to scratching.

  4. Fird Birfle says:

  8. The hovertexts make the covers!!!

  9. fish eye no miko says:

Shouldn’t it be, “Here we are, meow, entertain us”?

  10. LP: Lovely Puss?

  11. By Cat Cobain and Purrvana.

  12. What happend to “Teaser and the Firecat” by Cat Stevens?

  13. When I get home tonight I am going to line up my four cats, put flower pots on their heads, and yell at them “Are we not cats? We are REDONK!” and see how they react.

  14. My favorite one is the Let it Be one, it is now my wall paper at the office.

  15. ahem. we will require photos of this please. :)

  16. I’s jealous. There are only 3 cats at my house. We would have to sub a 4-lb. Yorkie for teh 4th kitteh. He thinks he’s a kitteh anyway.

  17. Let us know to wich hospital to send flowers.

  18. And don’t forget, the Viking Kittens!
    http://users.wolfcrews.com/toys/vikings/

    Valhalla, we are coming! :P

  19. I’m looking at the site now, and every.single.one. is making me *gasp with joy!

  24. Fird Birfle says:

and do they “roll”, too?? :)

  25. Fird Birfle says:

    *gasp* !!

  26. That’s funny, my 18-pound Eddy thinks he’s a 4-pound Yorkie.

  27. Pardon my ignorance, but which album is the one on the bottom left? It sort of reminds me of Phish’s Lawn Boy, but I’m guessing that’s too obscure.

  28. That’s Roxy Music “Country Life.” Bit of a controversial cover.

    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/aa/Roxy_Music-Country_Life.jpg

  29. Check out rathergood.com, they have a great deal of other amusing material. I’m particularly entranced by “Fishy Song.”

  30. No Roger Miller covers??
(tempting moderation – some time back, when the King of the Road was mentioned in my posts, I ended up in the Mod Lounge. Let’s see what happens.)

  31. Yup – moderation again. What IS it with that Name???

  32. Maybe because it already has a (fire)cat on it?

  33. Yes, mine too. Completely.

  34. It cracks me up with the kittehs. So well done. :D

  35. Here, have a liverwurst and Gorgonzola smoothie.

  36. Is it the Gorgonzola?

  37. first rule of mod lounge? you can’t rollerskate in a buffalo herd.

  38. Nope. Is it liverwurst?

  39. Then what is it?!!

  40. If I say it I get moderated again. Let’s just say it is the well-known singer/songwriter who is also known as King of the Road (see above)

  41. *snerk*

  42. Yes, and thank you for the ear-worm! (It really clashes with the Bach playing on my iPod.)

  43. Well, of course they do, silly!

  44. No, not you, me. I said something bad.

  45. *guffaw*

  46. Fird Birfle says:

    :)

  47. Fird Birfle says:

    8-O

  48. Fird Birfle says:
  49. Please provide a full report on how this Great Plan of yours unfolds! :)

  50. Completely hilarious. Oooh, I wish there was a Sgt. Pepper’s kitten cover–that would be fantastic…

  51. Ha!!

  52. This, people, is why the universe (or Al Gore) invented the Internet.

The KISS cover may have to become my new avatar.

  53. Very amusing is the “squirrel imitating a Star Trek communicator.” LOL :-)

  54. These are covers that even Tipper would approve.

  55. AWW  I just LOVE these album covers  I would buy all of them if they had kitties on them and it would only be for the kitties, and maybe the songs if I like the songs, but the kitties, oh YES

  56. pushy mcshove says:

where’s dark side of the mew-n?

  57. Fird Birfle says:

    ooo is very gud idea.

  58. Fird Birfle says:

(well, you probably can *TRY* to rollerskate in a buffalo herd….it’s just that
it might not work out, too well ….8-O)

  59. Fird Birfle says:

    GAH
I SAID (or TRIED to say) 8-O

  60. Fird Birfle says:

    CU***BER, CU***BER, CU***BER !!!!!

  61. Fird Birfle says:

    *curtseys*
We aims ta pleeze, don’tcha know??? ;)

  62. Fird Birfle says:

    NOW.
    Here’s the REAL qwershtyun .
HOW THE (*&)(*&(^ did a hooman convince FIVE little kittayns to

a: allow red flowerpots to sit on their heads
    b: line up straight and
c: sit still long enough for the photog to “do his/ her thang” ???????????

    WOW

  63. no, me!

  64. Watch where you point that thang, Fird! ;)

  65. Oooh, sorta NSFW, if you don’t know the cover. Even though I came of age in the, erm, 70s-80s period, I didn’t know about this cover. Fortunately, I got to work early, so no one will (I think) know! Just don’t click on this while yer boss is in yer cubicle, just sayin’! ;)

  66. *waving pompoms* YAY Bach!

  67. Sorry, I should have made more of a warning than just saying it was controversial…

  68. Maybe they’re sitting on a heating pad and momentarily rendered docile.

I picked up my Maggie kitteh this morning and flipped her over onto her back, in my arms. She immediately put her paws up in my face (wanna PLAY, Mom, don’t wanna cuddle!) and I felt how cold her toebeans were, so I gently held her front paws in my hand and warmed them. She immediately tilted her head back, half-closed her eyes, and started to get that “oooh…I’m warm…” glazed expression. With much regret, I put her on the bed…I had to get dressed and go to work.

  69. By Purr-nk Floyd?

  70. I’m listening to the audiobook of “Barchester Towers” on my iPod, but something’s messed up so it doesn’t show under the audiobooks category and I have to find it in the songs list. It takes forever to fish through all the Bachs to find the stupid thing…

  71. Is Roger a bad word that we don’t know anything about?

I refuse to check the Urban Dictionary to find out…

  72. So I’m guessing we can’t mention Mssrs. Daltrey or Waters by first name, either?

  73. Hmm…nope.

  74. elderflower says:

Those albums were covered in dark green shrink wrap …

Love the hovertexts except that “More Than This” is on Avalon, not Country Life.

  75. It’s ‘shopped. You can tell by the pixels. :P

  76. Aw crap. Pass the liverwurst/Clamato smoothie.

  77. did someone already mention that the american version was a photo of naked shrubbery?

“… too much napping’s got you down again…”

  78. Not That Mike The Other Mike says:

Yeah, I know, but “More Than This” is my favorite Roxy Music song. My song reference for the Devo album is also incorrect.

  79. Fird Birfle says:

    yay Noelegy’s story.

    Boo having to work
    *helps Noelegy pout*

  80. Fird Birfle says:

    heh heh heh

  81. Fird Birfle says:

*(entirely enjoying the combination of the
visual & auditory impressions of Bach music, with cheerleader pompoms)* :)

  82. Alice Shortcake says:

What, no naturally nude sphynx cats recreating the infamous John and Yoko “Two Virgins” cover?!

  83. I bet you can’t rollerskate in a cat herd either.

Now THAT could be an interesting album cover.

  84. Inquiring minds want to know. (Well…SOMEBODY had to say it.)

  85. I hadn’t even thought of that! Excellent tie-in.

  86. Yeah, some mornings it’s really difficult to escape the gravitational pull of the warm bed full of sleppy kittehs. :) The cooler it gets (in Texas, it never really gets “cold”), the more the kittehs schmooze.

  87. OH I WANT TO SEE THAT NOW!!

Whoops, I was thinking of the Annie Liebovitz photo where Yoko’s clothed and John’s not, and thinking that would be interesting in kitteh form.

  88. I don’t have an album cover with someone rollerskating in a cat herd, but I do have this:

(My apologies: 1) if it has already been on CO and 2) if I don’t embed properly cuz I’ve only embeded a YouTub vid once in my life – but this cracked me up):

  89. Oh dang it – I guess you can’t embed this particular vid? Well, if you click on the link, it goes to the video.

    Sorry, gang!

  90. Um, apparently it IS a naughty word – check out this name in Wikipedia and go to the section on slang in the entry for the name. I’d put in the link, but I’m afraid I’ll get moderated, and I’m not very interested in the type of smoothies being served in the Mod Lounge right now.

I really just think WordPress has a very dirty mind . . .

  91. Well, maybe the word is naughty, but it didn’t put me in the Mod Lounge (unless Sharpy was just really on the ball this morning when I posted).

  92. “More Than This” is a fantastic Roxy Music song. It takes me right back to high school.

  93. Roger that Noelegy.

  94. love, Love, LOVE that video!

I wonder how they got the swimming cats to swim?

  95. Alice Shortcake says:

It’s a naughty word in Britain. I’m British, I know these things. Surely you’ve heard of Roger the Lodger?

  96. Alice Shortcake says:

Over-sensitive profanity filters can be a bugger (or b*gger). There are sites where the mere mention of an English town called Scunthorpe would land you in the Mod Lounge…

  97. No, I haven’t.

But that would explain some things from “Are You Being Served?”

  98. well, how’d you do? table for one?

  99. I’d pay money for that cover!
