Oh put a kitten in it will ya

Helpful Hint #105

What to do with odd socks: Put a kitten in ’em and offer it up as a sacrifice to the sock monster!

The matching sock will magically turn up, under the refrigerator of course.

Allan is a shoe-in, Danielle.

  1. *dies*

  2. kittens named people names! 😀

  3. “Allan”? They miiight want to have their kitten sexed by a vet. That kitten looks like a tortie, and male torties are ridiculously rare…like, genetic freak o’ nature rare.

  4. It’s a very rare and very cute Cat-garoo Joey in his pouch.

  5. That problem with that suggestion is the cats ARE the sock monsters! (At least, in my house…..)

  6. Santa Claws kitten thinks you’ve been naughty and is leaving a lump of “coal” in your stocking.

  7. I was thinking the same thing! Not that “Allan-a” is in any way, shape, or form a freak o’nature. Nope. Nuh-uh.

  8. Lewis n' Clark says:

or is it that kittens come in pairs? I can’t remember…

  9. AWW 😀 I will save you, kitty 😀

  10. I’ll take a set!

  11. Ooooh, I need that kitten. I really need to give that kitten a hug!

  12. Just my sock size! Can I get 3 pairs– assorted designs?

  13. Sock it to me, Sock it to me, Sock it to Me!.

  14. That is actually Annie, not Allan. My wife appears to have mislabeled it. And she as ridiculously happy in that sock. Musta felt warm and cozy, like nursing on my hand which she still does to this day…

  15. Mary (the first) says:

True but maybe it’s deliberate. I once had a girl kitteh named “Harold” and I knew she was a she when I named her. I had pre-decided either Harold or Barbara .. and when I met the kitteh, she just didn’t look like a Barbara. So, Harold. Possibly Allan got her name in some similar manner.
    p.s. He/she is adorable!!

  16. In my house they do!

  17. Fird Birfle says:

oh SHOOT I came to THIS party, late, and Lewis ‘n Clark got my line!!!

Oh well, enjoy it in good health! 🙂

  18. Fird Birfle says:

    @ KittyAdventures:

  20. bookmonstercats says:

    The late, great……

  21. Tortie in a tube sock! Awesome!

  22. Allan? Allan??? How freaking adorable is that!!

Oh, and the kitteh ain’t so bad either. 🙂

  23. Yay for Annies and Allans!

  24. You put your wife in the sock too? j/k
Srsly, thanks for explaining, because the submission says Allan, which is cute actually!

  25. Hmmm…now I have an overwhelming urge to see Allan’s sweet face.

  26. I must admit to wanting to see how the kitteh got into the sock. Picky would not have suckled my hand, he would have shredded it. [He actually bit me once when I was trying to gently brush his gums with one of those finger brushes – Eventually, I threw out the meat-flavored toothpaste, which he proceeded to spit out (ptui!).]

  27. If you liked it then you shoulda put a kitten in it
oh oh oh, oh oh oh

  28. Lemur eyes! What a cutie kittyan.

As an aside, and speaking of Annies, my friend Annie trims nails of numerous cats’ pointy bits. She uses a bag she calls a “beastie bag” in which to gently restrain them, my Bucky included. It’s very effective for keeping both parties safe from injury. I always feel compelled to apologize for Bucky’s foul language throughout the process, as the air becomes quite ‘blue’ with his utterances!!

  29. Ack! I typed out a whole comment and it disappeared. Not an easy feat for me (typing), as I only have one functioning hand. halp, where’d it go?

  30. In our house, the sock monster IS a kitteh! Putting her in a sock would create some weird rift in the space-time continuum, wouldn’t it?

  31. OOps! there it iz ….nevermindmumblemumble…..*blush*

  32. Fird Birfle says:

flutterby: when in doubt, and it involves *YUCK* computers/ innernet,

ALWAYS place the blame on a vague, random, menacing “conspiracy”.
It soothes my nerves while I go to get the sledgehammer to take/ wreak vengeance on the razzmdazzmfrazzm…wha” OH yeh — sorry!

So, there you have it . Blanket Policy: “It’s a Conspiracy.”
    Works EVERY time.

  33. Fird’s Conspiracy Theory!! You always make me LOL ~ you and Theresa with her infinite library of funny and appropriate or inappropriate, as the case may be, videos!!

  34. So true….the kitten we are fostering drags anybodies and everbodies clean (or dirty) socks around. I just tell him to drag his “kill’ to the kitchen and play (which he gladly does). Never thought that cats would like to play with socks or anything like that. I KNEW dogs do but not cats.

    Learn something new everyday 😆

  35. *cough* Not just socks……

  36. I was thinking same thing, torties are usually females…so cute
I hope I get one in my Christmas sock….I miss my tortie…..

  37. [dancing in leggy fashion]

  38. Is back nao.

  39. Fird Birfle says:

    *curtseys in gratitude*

  40. Yes, we must the cats that come in pairs….in a pair of socks, please!

  41. Truly it would. We must speak to Q about this. Where shall we meet?

  42. bob drummond says:

SOCK IT 2 ME, SOCK IT 2 ME ,SOCK IT 2 ME …….

  43. I have a friend who has a male cat named Lola. 🙂 I asked her if he speaks in a deep brown voice, and she just laughed.

    “Allan” is gorgeous!

  44. I think I’ve seen something like that. Gabby got zipped into one once when she had to have her ears cleaned. She looked like a little red sausage with a calico head. Said bag had zippered openings for various limbs to be extruded from casing for nails to be trimmed or what have you.
