With a Bod Like This, Who Needs Hair?

Tough guys don’t go to barber shops. They go for the hedge clippers at the hardware store.

He is dog, hear him roar, Monica Mc.!

Put ‘em up, put ‘em up! Which one of you first? I’ll fight you both together if you want. I’ll fight you with one paw tied behind my back. I’ll fight you standing on one foot. I’ll fight you with my eyes closed… ohh, pullin’ an axe on me, eh? Sneaking up on me, eh? Why, I’ll… Ruff!

A dog walks down the street with a hair cut like that, people know he’s not afraid of anything.

  8. FancyNancy says:

Ha ha – This went around with a story about how an Auto Shop was getting broken into frequently. So he got this dog, cut his hair like a lion and posted signs saying the property was protected by a “Mexican Lion”.

    • Berg says:

That story makes it even better! I wonder how many people believed it…

Cute pooch, and the paws definitely have a lionish appearance.

    • Mamabear says:

Ah yes, the old junkyard lion ploy. Veddy shmaht!

That’s what happens when you fall asleep around a kitteh.

This is so wrong and yet so right at the same time. That tail just cracks me up every time I look at it!

  13. MichelleC says:

Is this the doggie version of a mullet? It’s a good thing for his hoomans that doggies are so forgiving.

  14. Walking E says:

I hope that dog has a lot of pride!

  15. ScoutsMom says:

The dog’s body does resemble a ferocious lion, but the face is still all puppy.

  16. Nikki says:

    Hilarious. Humiliating, but hilarious.

    • Fird Birfle says:

*quietly giggles, but stays far away from the pooch, so as
not to twist the Blade of Shame, any further into the wound*

Zee haircut…. it suits him well!

My husband gave one of our dogs a nice backhawk the last night he trimmed her hair :P Looked hilarious.

    Hovertext!

  19. Theresa says:

PS: It occurs to me that if this goggie stayed put long enough for the extensive (and initmate!) clipping process required for this, erm, look, it’s probably not a terribly ferocious goggie.

  20. that’s about 30-40 lbs. of pure AWESOMENESS right there folks !

Hahahaha I actually thought this was an actual lion for a second. Upon further examination I discovered it’s not, don’t worry you guys. Haha, props to the person who did this, it looks legit (:

Long time lurker, first time commenter over here and need to tell you that I just adore this site, have recommended it to all my friends since few years back and feel close to all regular commenters (wow, that sounds weird!). I live in Ciudad del Carmen (Mexico) and these pics were surfing the web and our emails a couple of years ago strutting El Leon Carmelo, which would perhaps be something like The Carmelian Lion hahaha Carmelo or Carmela are the words to call people from this town. Don’t know if the pics were actually taken here or if FancyNancy’s story is the real one, this is an oil city with lots of foreign companies and that looks just like any average warehouse/yard here!

  27. DillPig says:

Don’t mean to be nuffish, but is this photoshopped? Because in all the intimate details, the bod looks really….erm…..lion-ish :-D

  28. Marie says:

Debbie Downer here. I was going to make mention of the fact I hoped liondog didn’t live in this auto repair (or I guess machine) shop. Then I read he does. Man! *kicks ground* That bums me out. Liondog deserves a real home with a grass filled yard and cuddle time with the kids. Not the wafting smells of WD 40. #FAIL #saveliondog

    • Mamabear says:

That’s not a homemade haircut there, a professional has done it; it’s too precise and that’s hard to achieve even when a dog is being ‘good’. They are always shifting and moving from position to position. I know. I’m a professional and I see what comes outta homemade haircuts. That’s probably a $80-120 haircut. His owners obviously love him. He is clean, groomed, and well fed.

I gotta respectfully disagree, here. Grass and kids do not insure a happy dog life. Kids can be willy nilly in their care (oops, forgot to walk him, get him fresh water…) and dogs often have grass/weed alergies. I got a couple of dogs that come in who live at auto repair shops, and they are some of the most loved and well cared-for critters. I have also visited them at their shops for various repairs. The guys who work there and the customers LOVE them and give the dogs more than enough attention. Think of all the juicy gossip they get to hear!

Also, if he’s anything like our ‘office cat’, he might HATE being at home. I have brought Tini (*teeny*) home on extended weekends and he hates it. He mopes and after a few days will develop diarrhea. He loves greeting each and every client and their pet and he will have it no other way. Maybe this is the case with this guy?

  29. Sarah Meister says:

This is a simple case of a dog yearning to be a king. of the jungle.

    The poor humiliated dog…though I guess it’s much cooler…
