The Invaders Are Here!

Ladies and gentlemen, we interrupt our program of dance music to take you to Grover’s Mill, New Jersey, where a pair of alien spacecraft have just landed. The craft appear to emit a Goofiness Ray that affects anyone who approaches…

This all seems so familiar

  1. Kimberly O. says:

  2. Any martian seeing this video will know not to mess with this planet!

  3. kibblenibble says:

The craft also emit a musical accompaniment that perfectly captures the mood of aforementioned goofiness! 🙂

  4. kittiwoman says:

Yes! The first one! This is ADORABLE! I love the look at the camera–big, scary kitten. LOL

  5. Lol!!! This is really fun!!!

  6. The music is perfect. It definitely sets the tone of Impending Doom…

  7. Well if you don’t like green apples, you only have to say so. No need to pitch a hissy about it. 🙂

  8. Nanners says:

    Whew!! Did Hitchcock direct this?

  9. How can the human simply continue to film like that? Why doesn’t he do something? Why doesn’t he help instead of laugh?
I mean those apples are green with fright! 😆

  10. Where do they find such extra-wackadoodle kittens?

  11. Ticking time-pommes!

  12. 260Oakley says:

Soloist Rudolf Purreyev dances with two members of the core.

  13. Oh, like that’s hard! Kittens are born extra-wackadoodle. At least all mine were!

  14. SheepishKitty says:

I knew it! my sequential art teacher is wrong! Round things are evil, not triangle or pointy things.

  15. JannieWolf says:

My 6 year old cat did this last month with a Banana peel. I just watched like he was nuts.

  16. In Soviet Russia, cat has never seen an apple.

  17. Coco's Mom says:

Ok, now I must get a Scottish Fold. I didn’t think anything was cuter than kitten ears, until I saw Scottish Fold kitten ears. Now those are the cutest thing ever. Oh, and the little kitten tail that sticks straight out.

  18. at least they’re not green with envy…..

  19. The best part is when Mr. Pouncy Pants stops to take a little bath.

  20. Kittens: keeping the world safe from inanimate objects.

  21. Aliens: There is no hope. The beast besets us from all sides. We have landed on a barren desert plateau and we have no supplies or means to escape. All we can do is disguise ourselves as fruit for as long as possible in hopes that the creature will grow tired or lose interest in us.

  22. No, the best part is the tailio swish akshon!

  23. haha. my cat hates apples. he gets so mad if he realizes that I have one, that he’ll slap it out of my hand!

  24. We don’t know how much longer we can emit the Goofiness Ray.

  25. 😆 Now I know what “extra-wackadoodle” means watching this kitty 😆

  26. Nicolletta says:

    Ggggrrr….I iz ferocious hunter….gggrrr…..

  27. this reminds me of The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, but rather The Apples and Mr. Kitten………..kitty is as squirrely as Luther Heggs 😉

  28. kodalai says:

Ahh, the music really makes it 🙂

  29. LOL

  30. Fird Birfle says:

  31. Fird Birfle says:

  32. How can a clip under two minutes beat the last ten spielberg-bay film fiascos in terms of suspense, moodiness and twists? Well, butt and tail twists but still, Shyamalan can only wish to pull this off.

  33. Fird Birfle says:

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand Scottie comes in over the PA system:

“Keptin, she JUST CYANT TEK IT. She’s gonna BLOW, enny minnit now ….”

[and by “she”, Scottie meant the Engine of the SS Enterprise.
None of your locker-room insinuations, Eddie Haskell!!!!]

  34. LOL omg this is why I come here. pause at 1:07!!

  35. Oh My! So funny! Lovely colour too. (The apples and the kitty)

  36. Ali-Baba says:

    “They’re…(sniffs objects) uh, green.”

(Bonus points to who can name TOS episode that’s paraphrased from 🙂 )

  37. Moi, Actually says:

Some of these moves remind me of Simon’s cat.

  38. scarletgunn says:

I love the tail wiggle at .51.

this video and the first one just makes me hysterical with laughter.

  39. Love that kitteh!

  40. What is it about apples and tennis balls that make cats lose their ever-loving minds? Is it the color (or rather, how they perceive the color) that sets them off?

  41. victoreia says:

(sigh) Eventually they out-grow the “extra” part of the “extra-wackadoodle”…… I miss that phase.

  42. bookmonstercats says:

    Wins! 🙂

  43. bookmonstercats says:

But HOW did they get the kittayn to do all that in time to the music?

    *Shakes head in wonder*

  44. Theresa says:

    I’m thinking early Ridley Scott.

  45. Theresa says:

  46. Theresa says:

    NTMTOM = Orson Welles!!!

  47. ROFL! That was hilarious!

I love the moment at 1:07 – “I IZ FIERCE KITTY! PH33R ME!”

  48. Alice Shortcake says:

Yes, even in moments of soul-shattering horror kittens still find time to wash their paws!

  49. SusanH. says:

I was going to post the same thing- the moves are spot-on! :-))

  50. SusanH. says:

    LOVE your pun!

  51. JohnPaul3 says:

If only there was a kitteh in the garden of eden to protect us humons. The kitteh must have been hit by Goofiness Rays just as the apple was uncovered.

  52. Red Toenails says:

    Synchronized silliness! hahaha…

  53. Samantha M. says:

I love the last few seconds where he’s cleaning himself then seems to get distracted by his own tail moving. I had a cat that spent the whole 19 years of her life trying to catch the annoying furry snake that followed her everywhere.

  54. There is nothing in life like a kitten. They are everything that is good, happy, joyful, frustrating, goofy and hilarious all rolled up into one little ball of frenetic energy (except for when they suddenly drop off to sleep).

  55. Theresa says:

Oh, they sleep energetically, too. They sleep HARD. They always look like “I’m ASLEEP, dammit.”

  56. wuyizidi says:

Some people become frightened after reading horror novels, for others it’s slasher films, then there’s the impressionable young Emo Kittehsky, who after attending the blockbuster Cézanne exhibit at the Hermitage, became convinced everyday inanimate objects that surrounds him, fruits especially, are ‘pulsating with energy’ (the dark occult kind of course).

  57. HAHA! Mine does this ALL the time, had her since she was orphaned at 4 weeks 😦 she does this, my older 6 yr old cat does too, I call it KITTY GEEK OUT TIME!!!!!! LOL and I can never get the cam out in time, or if I do he looks at me and is like, “What??? Oh, crap, gotta act normal now. ” LOL

  58. Fird Birfle says:

  59. Fird Birfle says:

and you weren’t sufficiently moved, to set her up in cognitive emotional therapy??

The Neglect of Our Furry Friends

  60. Fird Birfle says:

    Eminently logical.

  61. Fird Birfle says:

bcuz nature is sometimes more well-designed than a Motion Picture!!

  62. Fird Birfle says:

    Possible Silly Embellishment:

    “grrrr; I iz fur-rocious hunter; ggggrrr” 🙂

  63. Fird Birfle says:

  64. BonzoGal says:

    “By Any Other Name”

    (Love me some Scotty.)

  65. BonzoGal says:

    Don Knotts FTW!

  66. BonzoGal says:

Easy- 10% of the gross profits, 5% of all merchandising, and a personal assistant to bring cappucinos, same as any other professional actor.

  67. JerilynS says:

I have definitely been spending WAY too much money on cat toys… 😉

  68. This is absolute, utter, without-a-doubt GENIUS. Laughed my head off!

  69. montanagramma says:

  70. Now we know where “green apple quickstep” originated.

  71. ROFL. I love that the music matched the action puuuuuuurfectly!

  72. “I should’ve listened to Bobby Russell,” thought Filius, as he studied, warily, those . . . things . . . that lay before him. Meanwhile, on the crackling radio, a panicked newsreader announced the second straight month of severe drought in central Indiana.

  73. BWAHAHAHAHA! He also became convinced that Mont Ste Victoire in Provence was some kind of landing pad! 😛

  74. Owned by Cats says:

And the music perfectly accompanies that interlude!

  75. TrixandSam says:

*throws bouquet of two dozen roses at Oak’s feet*
    Brava! Brava!!

  76. wuyizidi says:

Well yeah, that and Château Noir:

“It was built in the 18th century by an industrialist from Marseilles, who manufactured lampblack paint (derived from soot). He also used it to decorate the interior walls and furniture of the château. As a result, he was associated with black magic among the local people, who believed that the château was also home to the devil.” -WebMuseum

  77. atta boy Luther !!!!! 😀

  78. wuyizidi says:

Like his hero Beowulf before him, kitteh knows vanquishing Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, and Freddy Krueger was just the beginning. They were but juvenile demons. Eventually he would have to confront their little known evil matriarch, the ultimate horror – Granny Smith.

  79. victoreia says:

    Only sometimes?!?!?!?

  80. victoreia says:

Yeah, I learned that lesson a long time ago. Cardboard box, styrofoam balls (from the craft store), packing peanuts, brown paper bags–who needs expensive cat toys?

(Oh, and socks. Must not forget the socks.)

  81. victoreia says:

    Also brilliant post-production editing…..

  82. sara-bell says:

I’m with the tail swishing – perfectly caught on camera. Such a fierce little bundle of gray fur!

  83. Ruffian9 says:

    I have apples…I could find a soundtrack…I need a kitten!

  84. Ah, iz all clear to me now. Iz old Soviet interpretive densse against apartheid (South Effrikan Granny Smiths) by thet famous Russian blue, Igrr Stravinskitteh.

  85. muchbetternow says:

I came to tonight because I am a nervous wreck. I have breast cancer, have had two surgeries this month, start radiation next week, and tomorrow find out if I have to have chemo as well. This video not only made me smile, but made me LOL. Thank you so much for a bright spot in a very scary night.

  86. ams1001 says:

    Foil balls and drinking straws.

  87. OH NOSE! we are so here to love you! thank you for making this moderator smile 🙂 i know the entire staff and fan network is sending you all kinds of love; you came to the right place!

  88. Thick cotton shoelaces

  89. Theresa says:

Muchbetternow, just soak up all the cute vibes!

  90. musicnote says:

@Dub1 … LOL! Perfect ‘pommes’ punchline!!

  91. Why are there 2 green apples on the bed?
If they need a late night snack, there’s that adorable kitteh to hand!

  92. Alex L. says:

Still finds time in the middle of the epic struggle to notice it needs a clean though.

‘BATTLE, DUN DUN DA DA DA… Oh I’m dirty…’

  93. Empressgoth says:

Ahahaehahehaah!(Crash) opps! laugh so hard I fell of the Chair! Too Cute!!

  94. Kitteh knows bad apples when he sees them!
