That’s what I get for trying to steal someone else’s html. Busted on a code violation!

“Bu-but Officer, see, THESE aren’t MY jeans!!!!
See, wha’ ha’ happ’, wuz……my baby daddy’s cousin stayed in our house last night? See, she STOLE my jeans and these were the only ones left in tha house!!! All that diamond-encrusted Hello Kitty jewelry in the pockets, belongs to HER, not ME!!!!”

Can someone translate this statement for those us us that are computer impaired ?
Does this mean we can now add a pic to our comments on C.O. if we go to that link ????

Yes! You will need to know how to use the HTML code for inserting images, which is fairly easy to remember. This page offers a simple explanation; you only need to remember the section titled “The Basics – How it Works.”

      http://www.mediacollege.com/internet/html/image-tag.html

So you can get the URL of an image from Placekitten.com, and use that URL as the “src” attribute in an IMG tag, like this:

      <img src=”http://placekitten.com/200/300″ />

Sorry, Mudbug. What it means is if you’re knocking together a web design, sometimes you don’t have all the elements yet that are going on your page, but you need some indication of where they will go, how many pixels they are going to take up, etc. In other words, a placeholder. So by way of this page, instead of some boring old thing, or no placeholder at all, you can use their adorable kitten pics as your placeholders.

      • Berg says:

Thanks, Theresa, for explaining and Mud Bug for asking! I had no idea what it meant either, though of course I automatically liked it because it involves kittens.

      • MudBug says:

Thanks a lot for the info T. ! This could be FUN !!!

      • Rachael says:

Thank you, Theresa. I’m just glad I’m not the only technically impaired person here. :)

    ooh – lemme try

  7. Alice007 says:

If this works, I’m gonna leave kittens all over the internet!

  8. Noelegy says:

Those turquoise eyes in the last photo! *swoons*

  9. Martha in Washington says:

Can I have placeholder kittens hold places in my everyday life? Please! Like say, I don’t know what I want to fix for dinner, but I know I will be fixing something, so I can just use a placeholder kitten while I figure out the menu? I hope that’s how it works!

  10. Martha in Washington says:

And also, did we get rid of those thumbs up/down thingies permanently?

  11. A. Non! says:

I’m a little concerned that I’m not the only one who regularly uses pictures of kittens as placeholders in my computer projects . . .

  12. scarletgunn says:

if i used placeholder kittehs i would just leave them holding the place forever. to delete them and put something projectish in their place would make me sad.

    kittys are BETTER.

  13. tammy. says:

if this doesn’t work then i am going back to high school in the year 1998 and relearning HTML.

  14. Lewis n' Clark says:

Can we use the kittehs as placeholders on the dinner table, wearing a little tag around their neck with a guest’s name? Is that what you mean by placeholder?

    • Wend says:

(Imagines what a dinner party at L’n'C’s might look like…)
erm, I don’t like to complain, but I have kittie footsieprints all over my plate… in butter… oh, wait, my place just moved… into the sink?… oh, well…(follows placeholder/nametag).

    This web designer is happy!

  16. Teresa says:

I would keep kitty placeholders as the lovely pictures they are :D
