When a bear cub wandered into the yard of a Slovenian family, it made itself right at home — to the delight and/or chagrin of the family dog. Local authorities hope to be able to care for the cub soon.

Love doggie’s expression. “Get. It. OFF.” Looks like the cub’s presence is a bit…unBEARable…at the moment.
He seems so friendly. Where is Mama bear, I wonder?
Pic #1 is great- I love how bendy bear snouts are. Plus, this cub is such an unusual color- anyone know what kind of bear this is?
If mama bear hasn’t shown up yet, she’s dead or incapacitated.
cute and scaryyyy!!! I’d be like… “where’s mama?!”
OMG he looks like an alive stuffed animal!! WANT!!
if you go to the link, you can see him playing in a cherry tree!!! omg i can’t handle the cuteness!!!!
Sounds like mama bear met an unfortunate end, and baby bear thought, “Huh. Well this family looks nice. Think I’ll just wander into their yard and have them take care of me.” From the sheer delight on his face (especially in the third picture), it looks like his plan is working out just fine. 🙂
wow that guy is brave, and lucky…a real live teddy bear!
It’s Little Bear!!! (From the stories of Elsa Holmelund Minarik.)
Slovenian bear, apparently. 😀
Eurasian Brown Bear, Ursus arctos arctos. In other words, what Mary said.
Beary cute!
Bebeh bear looks so happy in these pics! I love when animals are smilingk.
Interspecies snorgling (at least for the bear)
How do you say Paddington in Slovenian?
LOVINGK Mike’s headline also!!!
PS: I’ll see if anybody responds to a request for an
“I’m going to eat you” Tag on Pic # 1 — ??
If you go to the site, there’s more adorable pics. 🙂 The family has been taking care of the bear over a month. They want to build a fenced in area for it but it’ll be sent to a wildlife sanctuary. So cute!
Pic#1: Bear is all like “nomnomnomslobberslobberslobber” and Dog is all “great, now I’m gonna need a bath”.
Major side-eye!

You forgot cute!
Apparently, the desire to nom ear flaps is not specific to humans only.
That one’s adorable! He’s all, “Bearoo?”
It looks more gray than brown.
The expression on doggie’s face is priceless.
BALOU! Tale Spin, The Jungle Cubs and The Jungle Book come to life.
Further evidence that rottweilers are the most tolerant dogs in the world.
I looked at some images of adult Eurasian brown bears and many of them seem to be smiling.
Must be nice being a Eurasian brown bear.
The last time something that cute wandered into my yard I married it. Then I divorced it. No, I take it back….this bear is MUCH cuter than my ex. Probably has better breath too.
I wonder if the gray is just the photography, or if he’s really that color?
And yeah, I think a wildlife facility would be better. He won’t be small and cute forever.
my thoughts exactly …
The article says the family would like to keep the bear but animal experts want to put the cub in a wildlife sanctuary. Guess which option the goggie is in favour of? Uh huh – goggie is gonna stuff the ballot box for wildlife sanctuary. The dog says: baby bear spit on my ears – ick – that just ruins my rap man. Put that little dude in a sanctuary before he has even the birds and cat laughing at me.
*snicker* This bear probably doesn’t leave toothpaste in the sink, either.
I know it will probably be the right thing to do, to put the bear in a sanctuary, but he’s sooooo happy where he is and clearly well loved. I reckon Doggie will miss the crap out of him. Wish we knew what happened to Mamma Bear, Poor Baby Bear! LOVE the pic of him peeping around the tree!! ♥ I want a bear cub now………..:)
But there again,
(man+cute animal) x playing with a big smile = Major Qte*
(* can’t work out how to do superscript and express a mathematical power – bearoooo, as warrior rabbit said)
… but you can see from pic #3 that he’s not really a cub any more…..look at the clawsies on his right paw. Eeeek
That’s what I thought, also! He wandered into their yard looking for things to put in his Birthday Soup.
Or dirty underwear on the floor…
Stinkin’ cute!
If a bear cub wandered into my garden, I must say, I would not be brave enough to go outside and play with it. I would cower in fear of the potentially furious mother bear who might come along. :-O
They want to keep the cub for now… But they get very large. Little bear will probably have a better life in a sanctuary.
And the dog will be relieved to be the centre of attention once more.
Another candidate for the Men of CO calendar! Seriously, when is it going to happen?! 🙂
The last picture is just sheer delight- and yes, looks so much like Little Bear!
In Eurasia, all our browns are greys. Haven’t you read 1984? :p
What a happy little guy! The third photo is the Cutest!
to make a mathmatical sentence to the power of something just but parenthesis arounbd it and use the up arrow on the number six key then the number of the power you want to express… thusly
((man + cute animal) playing with big smile) ^ 6
Mathmatics are us. 😀
or wet towels not hung up after his shower.
Ditto. IT won’t be so safe in a few more months
I thought rotties were bear dogs with hearts of lion. How embarassing!
Friends! Romans! Puppehs! Lend me your ears!
for I wish to nom them 😀
I want to believe this could be the Slovenian version of Gentle Ben (Nežen Ben), but yeah… once he’s older and bigger, he’ll just be too much bear for them.
Why, why why am I drawn to bears because of their cuteness? God forbid I ever run into one in the wild. I would no doubt see it as a sweet baby animal and be mauled to death by his mama. Still, this little guy is plain old adorable.
O.M.G. I wish I was this family. One of my life long dreams is to hug a bear. Obviously that’s a very dangerous thing…especially a baby bear if it’s momma is nearby. But dude…I would just hug the crap out of this baby!
Plus, he’ll be happier with a big space than in a little enclosure.
I think I’m her ex. 🙂
Yes he does. Want also!
My cat Eddy’s favorite nickname is Bearcub.
I think it is called the stink eye.
I went to the link for International Business Times shown and was virused horribly,by “XP Security 2011”.
The work required to undone it was awful.
Fair warning,it almost destroyed my OS,and did severe damage.
my lifelong dream is to give a lion a bellyrub… maybe we should sneak into the circus?
What does he do to tell you it’s his favorite nickname? Actually respond? 😉
When I call him Bearcub he doesn’t look sad the way he does when I use various other nicknames that refer to his low intelligence, large girth, or twisted, shall we say, “romantic proclivities”.
(By the way, I do love him.)
He probably doesn’t try to “teach” you to drive a stick shift and scream at you the whole time.
Generally [sub] and [sup] (but substitute the alligator brackets instead.
So, x2. In theory. Let’s try it and see.
Darn. And I didn’t close my ) on the first one. Anyhow, WordPress sometimes just doesn’t like regular HTML in comments. Or it doesn’t like me. One of the two.
Heh. Poor Bearcub, lol.
I was wondering about the dog breed. (I nommed regularly on his ears too.) The snout and ears don’t appear to be completely rottie – are they? This pooch looks just like my rottie mix (rott and German shepherd).
This bear reminds me so much of a toddler’s expressions.
^My nomming refers to my pooch. I can haz more caffeenz plz?
wow. Bad thing is Bad. Good notification, there. YIKES.
“probably”
*gives w.r. a stuffie toy unicorn and a lollipop*
Only now saw that the dog is chained up. Not so cute anymore!…..
#3 – Wanna play “Peek a bear” ~ please?
Yup; that was pretty close to my thought, on seeing that (third) photo as well 🙂
i sent this link to y’all a week ago!!! 😦
I really like the “Hello World!” quality of picture number 3.
