They Grow Up So Fast, Don’t They?

One day they’re cute puppies, and the next minute, they’re fully grown.

Comments

  1. Threnjen says:

    OMG soooo cute!

  2. BOY! That was some fast growing up !
that would be some fast housebreaking !

  3. Oh, where’s my leetle baby? Barooooooooooooo!

  4. victoreia says:

    Tell him to STOP IT!!!!

(What? Oh, sorry–got him confused with my nephew…..)

  5. kodalai says:

Was he wearing sunglasses in one of those pictures?

  6. So . . . when does he grow into the ears?

  7. Is this the little pooch I carried?
Is this the little pup at play?

  8. Guinea Peeg Lover says:

This is just a HEYSPLOSION of cuteness!

  9. Yes – and he was wearing a ninja headband in another one!

  10. Space Cowgirl says:

He’s beautiful! I’d be tempted to call him Anubis, though.

  11. Jamile Bahia says:

    Muito legal!

  12. They do grow up fast don’t they!

  13. Becky, Bubba'smom says:

Sunrise, sunset….quickly go the years! That was such a great idea. Loved it.

  14. Cambridge Rat Mom says:

That’s great to watch. And you only get to do it once (with Dunder, at least).

  15. flutter-by says:

Excellent idea! How I wish I had done something like that with my kitteh! He went from tiny, mewling kitten to monster cat in 9 months!

  16. Michael says:

Love watching the progression of his ears as they make their way from puppy-like to bat-like.

  17. D’AWW! SO CUTE @ THE BEGINNING OF THE MOO-VEE!
    BAROO! :)

  18. JannieWolf says:

    I don’t remember growing older,
    When did they?

  19. They do though, don’t they though!

  20. Blitzen!

  21. Despite the cheerful music I honestly got teary eyed and started sniffling at this. Lord, what is wrong with me.

  22. Dunder is such a sweetie.

  23. Enough with the ears, I kept wondering when he’d grow into that snozz! But he is a handsome boy, isn’t he?

  24. Noodles says:

I saw the table getting smaller. :)
    Seriously, cute doggeh.

  25. Lovely comments from those people wuho quoted from “Fiddler on the Roof” and that Sunrise Sunset – I had started to sing it to myself and found that you guys simply thought the same as I did – and how beautiful this dog always was – from Pup to Grown up
    Love to all
    Patti

  26. I’m glad they struck a lighthearted note with the music. Anything else and I might have lost it completely. As it is, I was smiling and feeling emotional at the same time.

Love the video (and what a great idea) but they do grow up too fast… *sniff*

  27. hrhqueencat says:

    awwww, Dunder’s parents luff him soooo much;

    and so do I :)

  28. I think that my favorite thing, aside from the sunglasses, ninja headband, toys…ok, wait, one of my many favorite things about this video is that in each and every picture he’s looking straight at the camera with what appears to be intense devotion to whoever is holding it! “I LOVE YOU! TAKE MY PICTURE! YOU’RE MY FAVORITE HOOMAN!”

  29. Awwwwwsome! Wish I’d thought of that with my two. Getting them to sit still in the early days would have been a chore. Too cool.

  30. That was superb! Thank you! Is he named after The Office?

  31. I’m pretty sure I’ve said this before, but I loff people that loff their animals!

  32. Cambridge Rat Mom says:

at :29 he’s wearing shades; at :31 he’s wearing a headband; at :34 in a pool, with a tennis ball and with a scraper or maybe a Furminator in mouth. It all goes by fast.

You’ll also notice both ears were floppy until they both straightened out at :10.

  33. Lol, I was thinking of faux German for ‘Thunder’, which is why I wrote ‘Lightning’, what with his being a g-shep.

  34. chanpon says:

Want!! I would melt if I had a cute dog looking that way at me every day.

  35. Homer mariner says:

That is one happy healthy dog! I love when we get to see not only the cute (I love me a big german shepherd) but the obvious love and care. So many toys! So much cuteness! What a great way to start my day!! Thank you cute overload!

  36. Typical of GS pups. They start floopy them one or the other goes straight, while the other is at half-floop and finally the go rocket ears on you! :D

  37. Very obedient pup, but then well trained GS are like that. That’s why I loved them.

  38. Still cute after all these *seconds*.

  39. Quiet_Desperation says:

Was I the only one who found it a tiny bit depressing? The whole time passing and things are old before you know it thing, you know?

  40. If you haven’t yet, go through the video slowly. I just kept hitting the pause button to get a better look at this cutie!

  41. kodalai says:

When did he get to be a bowser?
When did his ears stick up so tall?
Wasn’t it just 0:30 ago that he was small?

  42. well the goggie only turned 1 years old! so that’s something, right?

  43. I was assuming they went with the shortened version of Dunderhead:

    http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/dunderhead

I call one of my cats Dunder all the time…with love, of course.

  44. He’s beautiful. I love him! Thanks for sharing.

  45. LisaHoneychan says:

I’m crying like an idiot now..I had to put down my GSD, Josie on Mother’s Day of all days..She got very sick all of a sudden, and we had to do it before she suffered any more. Just when I thought I was getting a -liiiitle- bit better, I watch THIS. She was the BEST dog that i’ve been lucky enough to be a faithful companion for. I miss her terribly. She had a long, VERY-well loved life of 10 1/2 years, but it was just her time.

My one teeny-tiny ray of hope, is adopting a new pup that needs a forever home from the Las Vegas GS rescue.

This video was so cute, and heart-wrenching at the same time for me. Thanks for posting it, but i’m going to go sit with my box of Kleenx and cry some more now.

  46. Lisa Honeychan, I am sending you a great big hug – a real “Awwww – there – hon – let it all hang out” HUG – I know just how you feel – I have cried – and I still remember how it feels – they are aso beautiful – and then we have to part with them,
    May God Bless you

  47. Awww much love to you. I know how awful that can be. I cried at this video and I didn’t have a German Shepard, and I lost my other dog well over a year ago.

  48. Noelegy says:

    Lisa Honeychan, their lives burn so briefly because they love us so brightly. {{{hugs}}}

  49. Noelegy says:

We have some neighbors who have German Shepherds. They breed them, and occasionally there are puppies. These people have a wrought-iron fence instead of a privacy fence, so you can see the little fuzzballs that look a bit like bear cubs toddling around the back yard. :)

  50. How adorable! I thought about doing this with my kitten just the other day.

  51. Lovvvve the Monsters Inc. music. Perfect. :)

  52. Quiet_Desperation says:

Yeah, but I projected it onto myself and how I’m starting to feel old.

Meh, it’s just me. never mind.

  53. i no that muise its from monsters inc. love it exlent

  54. love the comment sasha and love the muise

  55. athena's mom says:

I have an eight-year-old long-coated GSD girl (Athena) and the video and your post made me tear up. I remember that cub-like little fluffball with the one floppy ear, who turned into an elegant, fierce, prick-eared, beautiful lady. I know her time will come eventually like it did your precious Josie, and I couldn’t have written your sentiments better. Hang in there. It comforts me to know that so many kind people are CO fans who understand. HUGS to all of you!!!

  56. Aaaaaw!
I love the inclusion of the Monsters Inc. soundtrack, too.
