Looks like an early Ingmar Beargman film.

  9. nutmeg says:

I love 1:47 where he starts holding on to his own little toes!! And the last 20 seconds where he leaps off the bucket onto Mom’s head :-)

  10. Paige says:

Cuuuuute! Denmark though, so it’d be more like “Mormor er en fluesvamp” starring…someone without an “ä” in their name.

    • Laura V says:

YES thank you, I’m from Denmark myself and I don’t like when people think that Sweden, Denmark and Norway are all the same.. Do your research please…

  13. tweetie says:

  14. Martha in Washington says:

This made my day! I want Fleep to live in my backyard! I would give him a new bucket every week! Mama could come visit whenever she wanted.

Fleep is so roly-poly and squirmy! Cute cute cute.

  16. Desdemona says:

    I wish I could be so easily entertained. Oh, wait . . . I just watched this twice . . .

  17. Juno says:

What we have here is a failure to learn from experience. Complicated by very poor short-term memory. Not that it isn’t cute.

“Look, a bucket! I think I’ll stick my head in there. GAH! GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF!!! Look, a bucket! I think I’ll stick my head in there. GAH! GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF!!! Look, a bucket! I think I’ll stick my head in there. GAH! GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF!!! Look, a bucket! I think I’ll stick my head in there. GAH! GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF!!! Look, a bucket! I think I’ll stick my head in there. GAH! GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF!!! . . . . “

    • Malinki says:

Or just maybe we have a kid playing with an improvised toy.

    • Miriam says:

At least it provides good protection when he falls backwards and would otherwise bang his head on the rock.

When Mom’s head came into view, I imagined she was thinking, “well this might not be my most brilliant cub ever….”

    • o no he/ she/ it DI-unt!!! says:

      Me Likey Thees.

Somewhere off-camera, there is a distraught walrus.

  30. Gaz says:

    I gotta join in…

Methinks there’a a walrus out thar who wants his bukkit back.

  31. afSnirkelsnorkel says:

Hahaha, Sill Hängslen! That is an awesome name for a polarbear but a more apropriate name in swedish might be Hink Uppochner but what do I know… (but swedish ;) )

  32. Dona says:

This pretty much illustrates why polar bears, as a species, are in trouble. It’s not global warming. It’s this sort of behavior.

  33. tagatha says:

I think Maru is waaaay more graceful when he sticks his head in things. But then again, cats are the supreme beings.

  34. Lillith says:

His films with Pola-r Negri were my favorites!
And seriously between the vid and the comments we have the makings of a CO classic!

  35. Lillith says:

I’m in a mod lounge! Vat the hay!

    Where’s that martooni shaker?

  36. Wendy says:

He is like the Maru of buckets.

  37. Theresa says:

    Years later:
“I’m still big. It’s the buckets that got small.”

  38. susan_rn92 says:

    Definately Buckethead!

    • Someone with a big head says:

Yes! That’s what I was thinking.. “My friends call ME buckethead??” HAW

  39. Angel says:

Fleep: “…ehn, I’ll get to the bottom of this! Ehn, ehn, ehn, it won’t stand still! How can I get to the bottom of this if it won’t stand still! …ehn, ehn….”

  40. Pinchy says:

    He’s filthy!

    • debg says:

Zooborns ran Aalborg’s photo series of his first vet checkup. It’s called “Filthy Baby Bear Goes to the Vet,” and it still makes me laugh out loud.

      http://www.zooborns.com/zooborns/2011/03/filthy-baby-bear-goes-to-the-vet.html

      • ashagato says:

thanks debg, this is awesome, esp the video at the end!

the use of he word “filthy” cracks me up, too. when one of our cats suddenly interrrupts what they’re doing to groom themselves, like it’s absolutely urgent, my husband and i always joke, “can’t you see her tail (or whatever) is FILTHY!” because of course there’s never a speck of dirt anywhere (unlike the sweet bear ;) )

  41. Jenjen says:

Love this! Mom’s all “I’d be happy to help you if I had one clue what you were trying to DO with the bukkit…” Kids of all species are just weird little critters.

  42. Hon Glad says:

Therewas a young bear from nantucket
Who stuck his head in a bucket….

  43. One cannot simply Fleep into Mormor

  44. Brystol says:

Oh my goodness, go back to around 1:50. When he’s laying on his back, he grabs his back paw with his front like a human baby would. Oh, dear. I want a polar bear now.

  45. Maddogtime says:

Klippet er som at se AAB spille fodbold lige for tiden…
Aalborg (my hometown) Zoo in Denmark has had a livecam running in the den ever since this cutiepie was born – adowahbuls! :D
Nice to see something from home and what a sweet clip it is too. /fawn

  46. Moony says:

Swedish? Erm. Aalborg Zoo is in Denmark :P

Cute all the same, though! <3

  47. Xia says:

Typical kid… doesn’t care about the gift of fish, just wants to play with the container it came in.

  48. Anna says:

    Sill Hängslen = Herring Suspenders
Mormor är en flugsvamp = Grandmother is a Fly Agaric (red, poisonous mushroom)
Aalborg is in our neighbour country but the bear is still cute.

  49. luscher says:

will someone please tell him that bucket is NOT A FEZ ?

please, don’t make me do it – i don’t want to be the bad guy

  50. pitkat says:

Somewhere, a walrus is crying out for his bucket.

  51. cubbybutt says:

mr. baby polar bear needs a bath.

  52. Elaine says:

I love the comments as much as the video :~)

This is an excellent example of why is is unnecessary to buy children expensive toys :~)

  53. Please! We DON’T have Polarbears in Sweden. Believe me, i lived here all my life. But I love your sense of humor and creativity. Great swedish names, haha! Such a cute video too! <3

  54. dmaufer says:

I was waiting for the video to be interrupted by an IKEA ad!

  55. Laura V says:

The polar bear from Aalborg Zoo in Denmark has a name from Greenland: Augo. It’s not called Sill or Fleep….. Although many silly names came up, when they asked the danes for their opinion about the new bears’ name..

  56. The Little Myrmidon says:

Ahhh, that crazy, lovable Fleep. Once again entertaining audiences in that merry fashion that has won him the hearts of millions of fans.

  57. tay says:

go to 1:46! he grabs all of his toes! its toooooooooooooo cute!

  58. J. Bo says:

    I wish I had a bukkit… I also kinda wish I were named “Fleep.” Maybe I’m just having a bad day…

  59. hex haight says:

I’M A BUCKET! STICK YOUR HEAD IN MY MOUTH!
