Hahaha, our “thing” in our family is that we call people on their bdays and sing happy birthday while the dog (sometimes dogs, now) howls along. It’s hilarious.

Traditionally, my affections have been reserved for the larger of the dog set (we have a Husky mix, a Great Pyrenees mix, and just recently acquired a Weimaraner), and so I’ve never been overly squee-ful over small dogs (my hubby calls them “pooper dogs.”)
This photo has changed that.

He can be feisty- especially when he wrestles around with our other dachshund who is 7 years old. Most of the time, though, he is just a cuddlebug and just wants a warm lap to sleep in.
I’m the husband- and I’m dang proud! Also: it is a typo- he’s 12-weeks-cute, going on 13 this week.

I promise he was born with those eyes. Most chocolate and tan dachshunds have hazel or green eyes. They may change color as he gets older, but I hope not.
