Prosh Primate “Potto”

A new bebe “Potto,” closely-related to the Loris, was borned in the Cincinnati Zoo. I think you’ll agree, it’s the proshest lil’ primate ever. Take a look at this suction cup action:

Sent in by Katherine B. who heard the news over at ZooBorns.

This season’s proshest accessories, direct from Pottory Barn.

  2. Thayne Maynard and the Cinci Zoo!
    Love them!
Potto, I will ohh and ahh over you next time we go to the zoo!
    This makes me happy!

  3. Prosh Potto poses pensively…perhaps pistachios por prandial?

  4. Oh sure, all kinds o’ cute NOW, but before you know it he’ll have his learner’s permit & be dinging up his daddy’s pottomobile.

  5. (yes I know that was horrid… just do better, k?)

  6. Theo…? THEO?!?? Guy!!!??? HI!!!!! How in the Hades are you, Brah?!!?

  7. Rusty.

  8. Okay, this one’s cute, bordering on creepy…

  9. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeauuuugh! 😯

  10. She’s bashfuls!

  11. 260Oakley says:

He might take it for a drive along the Pottomac River.

  12. April's NaNa says:

I thought the little tarsier was cute but this little guy/girl? is even cuter. Now I may just ‘splode from so much cuteness… *!*!*!*!

  13. I like the leg-clinging action at 1:40

  14. The sweetness in the second photo has melted my heart into a pile of goo. How adorable.

And the leg clinging means of animal transport near the end of the = Hippopottobus

  15. “oil can…. oil can”
    (in best tinman mumble)

phew, glad I’m not the only rusty one!

  16. Ahem, it might have helped if I had actually finished my sentence. I meant
“near the end of the video…” Sheesh. 🙄

  17. On his way to his pottory class.

  18. Are those four fingered hands? Everything I knew about primates has been turned upside down!

  19. Aw, the pitter-patter of cutie-patootie potto paws.

  20. Martha in Washington says:

    Hippopottobus FTW!

  21. Wonderful! Thanx for the link 🙂

  22. Think of your ancestors, great-grandpa/grandma Potter. Go back further. There are those Mckays in their kilts in 1700. Further still…Cro-magnons, the original Poitiers, doing cave paintings by torch light. Not back far enough. Climb aboard time machine. Tiptoe quietly through the forest, stop, look up slightly, and there they are, your fifly-zillionth cousins 20 zillion times removed, the Pottos. Be awed and humbled, then climb back on that time machine.
    I love Darwin.

  23. Po TAY to, PAW to toe, let’s call the whole thing awww

  24. “Oil can … what?”

  25. I LOVE Darwin TOO! Thanks for the stroll down genetic-memory lane…

  26. I think it is the findernails that attract me most…..and they are limber little critters, aren’t they?
Theresa, how is the Chorus? Has Bertha Servant been by lately?

  27. Hold on, let me get my splash guard, ok?

  28. Niiiiiiiiice!

  29. Speaking of particularly prosh primates, I’m going to be a great-aunt today!

  30. 260Oakley says:

    Sing it with me:
    Oil say can you see…

  31. oh my that is the cutest potto i have ever seen.

  32. Woot! Congrats!

  33. Oil be seeing you in all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces all day through

  34. Katrina, I am ded. Xmas was totally wild– we got through the day, then I had to go down to DC the day after, so I was there for the big storm– but I couldn’t come back until New Years Eve, and I was singing in a New Years Day perf of the Monteverdi Vespers, so I am totally ded and still recovering from all that. You?

    PS Alas, no B-Serv lately.

  35. Awesome! 😯

  36. Potto oh Potto
    I like you a lotto

  45. awwww, ma, do we hafta climb back on the time machine?

  47. Joyous Season went well.
We’re up to 50 young musicians in the Central CT Civic Youth Orchestra, and we just got a $2,000 grant for another program, in May a Baroque Music Festival called -wait for it— “All Strings Considered”, violins, violas, cellos, basses, harps and Classical guitars.
You should come down (up?) and visit the Steppes of Central Connecticut!

I love Montiverdi- I hope you had fun! One son is in DC @ school— learning to love the commute. (no, not really)

No B-Serve, huh? He must be really busy teaching.

A Happy, Healthy and Musical 2011 to everyone!

  48. Pic #2- “I still SEEEEEEE you!!”
