  3. mervtheflamingo says:

    I got a coat.

  4. baileysgrandmom says:

Not a RABBIT coat, I trust!

  5. beeegirl says:

your bunny is fluffier than my guitar

  6. Martha in Washington says:

No fluffy bunnehs under my tree but I did have all my family home with me this year! That was the best present ever!

    • Martha in Washington says:

And I got a plaque that says “No outfit is complete without cat hair”. My son understands these things.

    • Macey says:

There was a fluffy bunny under my tree, but y’know…she was there before hand. She helped unwrap presents and supervised the whole Christmas gathering. And no, she did not approve.

  7. Sarah says:

I got the bluray special edition dvd release of Beauty and the Beast, AND a cobalt blue (read: color of Beast’s tailcoat) teapot that is so shaped just like Mrs. Potts! All round and adorable. And some other stuff, but those are what most qualify for going on a Cute Overload comment. I’ve always wanted a bunny but I’ve never been able to have one. :( But at least I have a teapot!

  8. Jeannine says:

Santa brought us two days of snow flurries in Birmingham, AL! Woo Hoo!

  9. Tricia says:

I am not a bunny person, but I have to admit this little one is adorable.

  10. kisekileia says:

What a sweet, fluffy little bunny! I love his/her markings.

  11. Princess of Insolence says:

They must have named that bunneh Stew. Look! He’s already in a bowl!

  12. Meaghan says:

    That bunny disapproves of Christmas.

  13. chanpon says:

Nothing that tops this fluffer bunbun!! Squeee!

I got dvds, Wii games and some candy, and I swear I’m not 10 yrs old.

  14. Jessy says:

So what is the precious bunneh’s name? Or do we get to have a CO bunneh-naming contest?

  15. Hannah says:

    that bun is wonderfully disapproving.

  16. MarFar says:

Love the bunnicular action. I’d rather have a bunny than what Santa brought – a 92-year-old Mom in the hospital with pneumonia and a pending divorce. Yikes! Another kitteh will be joining my household once the soon-to-be-ex leaves! My 6-month old rescute kitteh needs a pal! And so he shall have one!

    • O NO He/ She/ It DI-unt!!! says:

      – our healing energies to you and to your family, MarFar –

    • Fluffy says:

For a minute I thought it was your 92 year old mom getting the divorce! Healing thoughts for Mom and and a big, encouraging hug for you as you start this next phase of your life.

    • Madame X says:

Hugs from afar, MarFar. I hope everything turns out well.

    • maeby says:

MarFar – love and prayers and bunnies going out to you! Oh and hugs too. *hugs*

    • Mary (the first) says:

Hugs to grandma and to you!

    • Sharpy says:

drama is the name of the game during the holidays, isn’t it? yuck on the divorce. getting a rescute is the bomb! (i got TWO rescue doggies for christmas–way better than toys, right?)

    • Wend says:

Hugs to you, Marfar, I too will be in somewhat the same predicament in the near future.(Separation to begin shortly) Hope your Mom does ok.

      • Angel says:

Hang in there, Wend. Remember that it is better to be alone than to wish you were. If Confucious didn’t say that, then I’ll bet he wishes he had.

    • Kitt'n says:

All love and hugs. Sorry it wasn’t the best set of presents, but a New Year new kitteh sounds like just what the doctor ordered!

  17. Susana says:

    it’s sooooooooo cute,
i ask santa a bunny but nothing ….
i want to know what kind of rabbit is it?
is a lion head? cause i love this kind but this is more perfect i want the same
    pleaseeee answer me =)

    • janet2buns says:

I’m guessing this is not a lionhead. Lionhead behbehs are EVEN FLOOFIER (I know that’s hard to believe but it’s true) Generally, the longer floof is centralized around the head and shoulders just like a real lion.
PSA: Behbeh bunnehs are admittedly extremely prosh, but be warned that they must be spayed or neutered when they grow up to prevent urine spraying (nasty!) territorial behaviour (also nasty) and various reproductive cancers (sob!)

      • Macey says:

Three cheers for you, Janet! Agreed heartily and I’d like to add that rabbits shouldn’t be given as presents/pets to small children. Rabbits can be a handful! But a loving and wonderful companion!

  18. I got All kinds of Bamboo Knitting Needles, Yay!!!! , A new Calandar for the kitchen, two new Gluten Free cookbooks , a awesome pair of Santa socks from a friend.

And a cold from my hubby who was sick as a dog on Christmas,
so we could not go to the family gathering but our darling daughter came to have dinner with us. She is such a sweetie.

MarFar… hope your Mom feels better soon… Sorry your marriage is falling apart
I hope you have better days soon!

  19. O NO He/ She/ It DI-unt!!! says:

Evidently, the Bunneh Store must be running a Special Promotion this year
on B/W bebeh bunnehs. This one matches Yoshimi (the bun who is snickering about somebody’s Christmas sweateuw) .

  20. Gaz says:

Don’t celebrate Christmas (personal reasons), but for Hanukkah I did get a brand-new camera and a rockin’ DragonballZ scarf as well as some new pastels ^_^.

  21. warrior rabbit says:

I got a sweater, a shirt, a travel mug and a ring (from my parents) and a spiffy flip camera. No bunny! Guess I’ll have to get that on my own…

That is one big bowl of disappointment, there. Wow. But… matchingks.

  22. Esther says:

Obviously, that there bowl is a Wassail bowl, usually filled with lovely, spiced up booze. Judging from the hung over expression, Der Bun-Bun had a very hearty Wassail chug, indeed. *hands over zen bunny aspirin and a craisin chaser*

  23. LisaL says:

That is one adorable little baby bunbun!!!!

  24. Jimbeaux says:

I got a picture of a bunny posted here! (I mean, I didn’t send it or anything, but it was sure nice to see this morning! Squee!)

  25. Queen of Dork says:

I got to fly across the country and be at home with my extended family! And I’m still here! :)

    • O NO He/ She/ It DI-unt!!! says:

And I got two nifty thinggies in the mailbox from QoD, with peace signs and doves and things like that on them!!!! *Thanks, Q* :)

Otherwise, it’s been very very quiet and calm here.

      Chaos = bad.
      Calm = good.

      Overall, a lovely holiday!! :)

    • Macey says:

That is soooo wonderful! My aunt and uncle did that, surprising us all! Twas truly a Merry Christmas!

  26. Fluffy says:

I got a new laptop, the better to see the Qte!

  27. Anna says:

What a cute rabbit :) I hope it has got a friend, otherwise it will be very sad =(

  28. cubbybutt says:

    bunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  29. emmberrann says:

I di’n't get no bunneh, snf.

  30. Madame X says:

Nothing quite as cute as that bunny!

But I got to spend Christmas day with my family and close friends, and my furbabies (and furnieces) got lots of toys to play with, so everything’s good!

  31. January says:

Got a lovely white Christmas and a new medical insurance policy! Oh and a red dog coat for Molly, a couple of gift cards and a new laptop!

  32. Larissa says:

I got a Cute Overload calendar! And our bunny got a treat puzzle game thing for Christmas. I’ll take a vid and try and get it posted here! She’s already mastered level 1. Anything for a cranberry.

  33. Claire says:

I got a Cute Overload page-a-day calendar for Christmas!

  34. squirrelly says:

I sincerely hope this is not a critter that will be discarded after the novelty wears off. So many times, people are given pets for holidays and so many times, the pets are let loose in the wild to fend for themselves when the owners don’t want them anymore. Rabbit rescues are usually packed to the porthole with homeless buns. Don’t mean to be a downer, but animals as holiday gifts sometimes end tragically. I’m just looking out for the critters who can’t look out for themselves.

    • Me says:

This is cute overload, and people don’t come here to be educated any more than they come to be depressed. If you’re ever considering whether to include “sorry to be a downer” it’s probably best not to post at all.

      • Jen says:

You mean this is where people come to look at cute animals and not care about their future welfare? Is that what you’re saying? Who cares about them when they’re not cute anymore? Pshaw, doesn’t matter.

I want people to know that gifting animals is not okay. The person you’re giving them to usually isn’t prepared for or educated about what it takes to care for this new pet, especially an exotic like a rabbit. Normal cat and dog vets don’t go to vet school to learn about rabbits or other animals that take specialized knowledge to care for correctly. Rabbits require knowledgeable owners who will do what it takes and can spend the money it will cost to keep them alive when they get sick (it’s expensive!).

Rabbits can live 8-12 years. They’re not as immediately personable as dogs and cats, nor are they as hardy and able to withstand benign neglect as cats and dogs. They need constant attention to their food, water, and mental and physical well being. I love rabbits and I don’t want them being abandoned or neglected because people can’t be bothered to think before they gift animals.

        • n says:

Hi Jen, FYI, all vets nowadays learn about everything, although exotic medicine is not as in-depth during the course of a regular veterinary degree as I would like. The emphasis is on dogs, cats, and the domestic farm animals, but there are usually a few units on exotics like bunnies, chinchillas, reptiles, and birds. Most vets that specialize in exotics are not officially qualified as exotic specialists; it takes 2-3 more years of study to qualify officially, and it can be very difficult to get a residency. Instead, these vets are simply ones who are interested in exotics, and are willing to do their own studying to improve their skills. Either way though, yes, proper veterinary treatment for exotics is just as expensive, if not more, than that for dogs and cats.

          • January says:

Somehow buns don’t seem exotic. A friend has had one for years and it seems to be a cross between a cat and a dog as indoor pet.

          • January they are just called exotics because they take different care from cats and dogs as far as veterinary medicine is concerned.. rabbits have a delicate system and can easily go into shock when medically treated and they take different medicines. and usually if a vet has teh exotics training they also handle rats, reptiles , chinchillas ect.

      • n says:

Actually, I think that a site that promotes “cute animals” should also promote responsible pet ownership. I also volunteer for a rescue, and I get several people that are overwhelmed by the cuteness of my foster bunnies, beg me for them, get them on impulse, then return them a week later because they were not prepared at all to be a responsible owner. Like squirrelly, I also hear alarm bells when I read or hear of an animal being given as a gift, and the main thing is not to rain on the cute parade, but to express concern for the critter that everybody is aw-ing over.

        • Sharpy says:

well said, n. thanks for leaving out the nuffiness.

        • Gloomygrrl says:

I own 2 pet rabbits, and am personally responsable for disuading dozens of people from rabbit adoption. Don’t get me wrong… I love my guys, but when someone comes to ask me wether they should adopt one (usually for their kid) and I lay down the reality of rabbit ownership – they usually start to think twice.

    • Murray Callahan says:

I volunteer for just such a rescue. I just hope whoever has this bunny knows how to take care of it, that it needs timothy hay, proper bedding (not pine), quality greens (no celery at this age) romaine lettuce, alfalfa pellets only in the first year or so. The sweet thing needs an exotic vet to see after its neutering (especially a female before 2 years, otherwise uterine cancer is likely in her future) and to take care of a rabbit’s very specific health concerns. Please, do your homework if you know little about taking care of a rabbit.

  35. RosiePosie says:

I got a Cuteoverload.com calender! And Julie/Julia on DVD. And the second season of True Blood. And a shiny new wallet. And a $20 Target giftcard which I will use to buy some new My Little Ponies. And an austrian crystal necklace and earrings set. And $100 cash.

And my mom is going to take me shopping before I fly back home.

    Wonder if I can bring a bunneh as a carry-on? ;)

  36. Jen says:

Best present I got was $100 towards my “Move to Montana” fund! And also a gorgeous silk scarf from Thailand. I wouldn’t have minded getting this bunneh though. I need more disapproval in my life.

    • You will LOVE montana.. It is one of my most favorite places I have liived.
      Wonderful Place … wonderful people.
and great summer time weather. We won’t tallk about the snow and freezing temperatures… bring Long johns. :)

      • Theresa says:

Two dear old friends of mine were from Montana, and while they lived in New York, their job, when we were in miserable mid-winter, was to scoff and say “You call this winter???” ;) And tell us that the state motto was “Forty Below Keeps Out the Riffraff.”

        • oh yeah I notice they forgot to mention teh occasional 60 below days… brrrrr……

But the people were the nicest I have ever met. and OMG the dances… when you move there you have to go to a friday night town dance if you move to a small town. Man oh man they can dance!

I met a few 70/80 year olds who could dance my socks off when I was only in my early 20′s

          • Hon Glad says:

But, but in the movies it’s always sunny and all the people are rich and good looking and have amazing teeth, don’t tell me it’s not true, sob, sob.

          • O NO He/ She/ It DI-unt!!! says:

@ HG: was that movie called “Denial”?? :)

      • Jen says:

Kittyadventures – I actually lived there before (in Helena) and left my heart there when I moved away! I am soooo excited about going back!! And also looking forward to boasting about the frigid temps when my relatives in Texas gripe that it’s cold at 50 degrees. Heh.

  37. Don says:

A coat, some cash, and _The Devious Book for Cats_.

I gave one of my sisters the CO 2011 page-a-day calendar.

  38. Sharpy says:

i didn’t get anything, but i know two rescue doggies who followed me and hubby home yesterday. :D

  39. Lizzy says:

I got an iPod touch, a couple comfy sweateuws, cute new undies (our family has a naughty Santa!)… and my VERY FIRST NIECE is due any day now! She’s about 5 weeks early, which is scary, but my family takes the holidays very very seriously and this grommet is clearly eager to begin hers.

  40. katie says:

I got lots of nice things, but no bunny babies. Lexidog wouldn’t stand for baby bunnies invading her space. :(

  41. Charley Kane says:

Whoa, he looks more than disapproving in the third photo, he looks downright sinister!
Either that or he doesn’t like the implications of being placed in a bowl.

  42. Shadyman says:

The last one is definitely a Cute or Sad.

  43. nismo says:

I love those stubby little paws.

  44. victoreia says:

Besides sore feet from playing sous chef for Christmas dinner, a Borders gift card and a chocolate orange.

  45. Andrew says:

Gift disapproval. We’ve all been there.

  46. TrixandSam says:

I got a few things that I really like but the best thing I got this year is my Mom being ok after a fall on the ice. She slipped on a patch on December 23rd (her birthday – ugh!) and landed square on her left knee. Split her knee cap in half horizontally. My brother’s neighbor and friend is an orthopedic surgeon and he set aside his holiday plans to not only diagnose the severity but to perform surgery on Christmas Eve to repair the damage. Mom spent Christmas Eve and Day in the hospital keeping doctors, nurses and nursing assistants on their toes! I had the distinct pleasure of taking over Christmas dinner duties and did Mom proud. She’s back home from the hospital as of this afternoon and we’re all so happy she’s OK, despite the hip-to-thigh cast and lots of pain.

Thanks for letting me tell about my holiday!

    • sending good wishes your way that your Mom is better soon.

    • Sharpy says:

thanks for sharing this christmas story you’re not likely to forget ;) hope mom heals up quickly and nice to hear of good medical care :)

      • TrixandSam says:

Thank you! Mom has a lovely little shelter dog named Sonia who adores her beyond measure. Sonia was beside herself when Mom got home. She’s been following her around, barking at the walker Mom is using to hobble around. Second Mom sits down, Sonia is in her lap, kissing her and snorgling her. Love definitely goes both ways, eh?

        • Madame X says:

Goggies make the BEST nurses, and rescutes are the sweetest!

Our own “know” when any one of us is feeling sick, or blue, and will remain by his or her side until s/he’s well.

Hope your mom is better soon!

  47. MoonCatty says:

    New cutetastic “Cup ‘O Bunneh”!

Just add water… disapproval already in the mix!

  48. Lerrinus says:

I am bowled over by his/her/its cuteness!!!! :-D

  49. dogsleder says:

For our Christmas present to each other, my husband and I became sponsors of The Briar Patch, aka The Bunny Room, at our local county animal shelter in Sacramento, CA.

The whole state is in financial ruin and everyone is trying mightily to keep essential services afloat for people and animals. We have a brand new state-of-the-art shelter as of October 2009, but the budget has been slashed in half. The original 57 employees are down to 29. People are being given the opportunity to have engraved memory tiles, sponsor kennels and habitat rooms, make items for the gift shop, etc.

When we got married nearly 18 years ago, my husband and I (aka Mr. and Mrs. Bunny) had a carrot wedding cake with bunny figurines in their Sunday best standing in front of a marzipan veggie garden behind a picket fence. So it’s only natural that we sponsor the shelter bunnies. There’s a lovely plaque by the door, too, with the Anatole France quotation “Until a person has loved an animal, part of one’s soul remains unawakened.”

  50. muttluver says:

Bunnies aren’t even on my fave animals list, and this had my hyperventilating.

I got a fuzzy new coat! :3 And books, and clothes, and a wallet, and money.

  51. Theresa says:

I got Santa Duck! Kidding. :P I got a lovely gold charm to wear around my neck, and I got books, sweateuws and an Amazon gift card.

  52. KT says:

I got Keith Richards’s new book, a new Wii (it’s red!) since our last one broke…twice. And a laptop cooling pad, lots of new pjs and some socks, lots of toiletries and a new toothbrush, clothes and a little R2D2 that bleeps and beeps and is quite adorable. Gift cards, and cashola!!!! Yay now I can buy some champag-nuh for New Year’s, yay!

  53. Brenna says:

I got a kitten for Christmas (only I got him 2 months ago)…
    Kitten > bunneh
    :D

  54. dmaufer says:

Waiter, there’s a hare in my soup!

  55. Trixie says:

I also got a bunny!! My boyfriend got her for me. (Don’t worry, there had been much discussion in the past few months, though the purchase did come as a very pleasant surprise. She’s here to stay!)
I named her Petunia, and she’s a [few]-month old Netherland dwarf. She looks like a little chinchilla. Actually, she looks like the picture once posted on CO of a little bunny with its tongue out–which is one of my favorite pictures EVAR. I saw her and squealed with delight about how she reminded me of that picture, which has been my background since I saw it on CO :P .
Anywho that was a nice present, and probably beats the fuzzy slippers and Bourne dvds I got for him… :)

    • O NO He/ She/ It DI-unt!!! says:

yay for a bun to a place that will love her. And yay for the name Petunia!!!
      Merry merry!!

  56. Hon Glad says:

I got a salt mill and a recipe book stand. I will probably get the other presents about mid-summer. As you have probably guessed, my family doesn’t meet up that often.

    • O NO He/ She/ It DI-unt!!! says:

ok, I’ll bite. A salt mill??? Please to elaborate?

Is it a Simonscat saltmill? A miniature of la tour Eiffel or of Big Ben???

      Signed,
Sitting on the Edge of my Seat.

  57. Zooms Mom says:

Bubo the owl-Hand made out of metal & gold overlay(Clash of the Titans). 30th anniversary 3 pack of Strawberry Shortcake “Old School” dolls. Yes, they smell terrific! And of course True Blood drinking glasses. (blood sold separate)

  58. Angel says:

Get your biscuits in the oven and your buns in the bed…..er, bowl.

  59. meggy says:

last pic–even under all that fur, one can see the disapproval!

  60. Darsa says:

Not much gifted this year at our house, with hubby out of work. He managed to find me a new watch he could afford, which is super-cool! Aaand, on Christmas Eve, he got an email from a potential employer asking him if he was still interested in the position! He starts Jan 3, so we couldn’t really ask for a better Christmas gift than that.

…Except mebbe that bunneh up there ;)

  61. morgra says:

That thing is so cute! How fluffy it is. <3

  62. Gracin8r says:

    Guess who got a camera!!!
