Oh Truffles … do I detect a slight note of bunrab disapproval?

  5. Debbie says:

Aww..what a cutie. Love the ears! I wish my bunnies could dig outside…they would love it. So sweet. :)

  6. Queen of Dork says:

If that pic isn’t Peter Cottontail, I don’t know what is. Mr. McGregor must be just off frame looking really furious.

Truffles?! Could there be a more perfect name for this bun?!

    • tracylee says:

(insert Chandler Bing before the emphatic “be“)

Has anyone here ever tasted white truffles shaved over something? I mean the mushroom-type things. Be it eggs, pasta or hamsters? (kidding about the hamsters part. Just kidding). Are they really that good?

      • Mudbug says:

Q.O.D. I could go on for hours about white truffles seriously, so I’ll be brief, YES ! They’re all that AND a bag of chips !
That is if you like the flavor. I’ve actually met a female (no less) that didn’t like the flavor of chocolate. No , for the record it’s not me.

Are you talking about my freshman roommate? :)

        • Queen of Dork says:

But I mean the mushroom things. And that’s where the whole “truffle” thing gets confusing to me. Because I think there’s some sort of truffle that’s a kind of chocolate but then there’s some other sort of truffle that’s a white mushroom which only grows in Europe (France or Italy I think) at a certain time of the year and is only harvested by special dogs or pigs or unicorns that have a soft touch with their mouths so they don’t squish the mushrooms when they pick them up.

          • Theresa says:

QoD, chocolate truffles aren’t mushroom truffles. Chocolate truffles are made out of ganache. They are called truffles because originally they were made to look like truffles (the mushroom kind).

          • Hon Glad says:

QoD, The dogs or pigs sniff the truffles out, then their owner digs for them. They are found near certain types of trees, Oaks for instance.
I’ve had some shaved over pasta in Italy and to be honest ,I could barely taste anything, but then I make no claims to being an epicure.

Truffles on location, digging in the flower pot, ears blowing in the breeze! (so cute)

The toeses! The splayed and furlicious toeses!

    *ded*

  11. Mudbug says:

Maybe I’m too literal but with ears like that my first choice for a name would have to be “Flopsy” over “Peter” but Truffles is as sweet as the name implies ! She even looks like she’s been rolled in cinnamon sugar ! (Lip smackin’ good !)

Why it’s Rosie Cotton from The Green Dragon! ;-)

Truffles disapproves of there being no carrots in the dirt.

  14. Mocha says:

So adorable!! I love how her ears stick forwards and not out. She kind of reminds me of this stuffed bunny I used to have, whose name was (inexplicably) Ducky.

I think someone should definitely make a clock app out of those ears…

I for one am a fan of the inverted V on the fuzzy darling’s snoot. Perhaps it is indicating the prime spot for scritches and/or snorgles?

  18. janet2buns says:

Sweet Truffles, gardening is necessary in the production of nomtastic carrots and other delicious things. Crack the whip over your hoomin indentured servants and get them to order vegetable seeds to be ready for spring.

Theresa: Oh. Thanks for the explanation of truffles in their many forms. But have you ever had the white mushroom type of truffle? I have not but heard they are really, really yum and am so curious about them :) . SO…(puts on observing glasses) as not to go TOO much off subject…(ahem) I really dig the bunny in the pic. (hahahaha! get it? DIG?) Okay. Now I’m just being a dork. again.

I love rabbits. I love gardening. A gardening rabbit – perfect combination … though conspicuous absence of carrots …

  27. S/he disapproves that it’s so far to dig to Narnia…
I tried to catch the essence of disapproval here: http://inkerbel.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2zul3k
